Did you know that US has been in a war with France? In just over 4 minutes, I explain the first international war of the USA. It is the foundation of our navy, the cause of John Adams' defeat in 1800, and the Louisiana Purchase. America really has been at war with Russia. Not in the Cold War sense, but a real shooting war with Allied troops invading the motherland. Don't believe it? Just watch and find out. This war changed everything for US-Soviet relations and is a very real corollary to the Cold War. From 1918-1920, America, Britain, France, Japan, and others came together to intervene in the Russian Civil War. It was caused by the October Revolution and the signing of the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Despite having the ability to destroy fledgling communism, the allies failed in every regard, losing sight of their mission along the way. This is their story. For those who know about the intervention and are wondering why I don't mention the Czech Legion: I was trying to keep this short. They were significant in the very beginning (though normally overstated), but by the time the Allies arrived in Siberia, they had the situation fairly well handled.
