Today on The Skid Factory it's time to Tub Al's Crown!
With the impending fitment of the Harrop supercharged Chevrolet big block engine we turn our attention back to the rear end of the Crown.
To get all that torque to the road we need some decent sized tyres. The 15x10" Enemies Racing wheels are wrapped in Zestino 255/60R15 Drag Radials which didn't fit in the original rear tubs so we summoned the help of Matt from Rogan Industries to do a "Split" or "Mini" tub job on the rear inner sheetmetal.

Taking advantage of Madoc Tunings dyno in the same complex as Goleby's Parts, we test each modification as they are fitted to see the real back to back gains.

Today on The Skid Factory We're pumping out more work on Al's Supercharged Big Block MS55 Toyota Crown in preparation for getting it started.
Now that the steering assembly has been finalised Al can fabricate the drives side Header which is being made from 2 inch 304 stainless steel.
Next on the list was to sort out an intake pipe that isn't going to clash with the Bonnet or the radiator so the Harrop TVS2650 Snout is swapped over for a side entry item with an LS3 90mm throttle body.

We've got no idea how to build a Billy Cart but we do have a bit of an idea of how to build an engine so we decided to hit the magnifying glass to upscale an engine and then add some BMX Wheels!
Halfway through we realised that we were over the limit when it came to our weight restriction so we busted out the hole saw to remove some material and we managed to get it down to 79KG!
Once we arrived In Melbourne we checked out some of the other carts and then it was time to RACE!

The radiator is replaced, the lower supercharger pulley is changed from 250mm to 215mm to lower the maximum boost pressure and the fuel system is upgraded with Raceworks 1500cc injectors and a second fuel pump.
We then head down to see Kye at Knight Family Motorsport to update the tune for the new boost pressure and fuel system.

Timmy has featured on the show many times helping us out with wiring and showing off his Datsun products from One Six Industries. He has a couple of cool Dattos and since we were doing some work on this one for him we thought we'd show it off before getting stuck into the job.
The Current setup consists of a VQ35 bottom end from a Nissan Elgrand with Weisco Pistons and Eagle Conrods mated to VQ30 Cylinder Heads with HKS MLS Gaskets ARP L19 Head studs, VQ35 Kelford Camshafts and Valve Springs.
Previously Timmy had fitted a GT35/82 (Too small) followed by an BW-S362 (A bit lazy) and it currently has a GT35/84RS (Turbine to restrictive) Timmy's always looking for more and ever-evolving the vehicle so stay tuned for next weeks episode where we'll be changing the turbo for a G40-1150
