Today on The Skid Factory, It's new project time!! Lee's 1972 Holden LJ Torana has been sitting around for about 10 years without an engine. Lee asked Al to install a Honda K24 in the engine bay. After using his brain, Al decided it wasn't the best idea and suggested a 1JZ-GTE instead. AL, Woody and Lee head up to Goleby's to Re-build a Non-VVT 1JZ and install some Camtech 272 camshafts to make the ideal engine for Lee's barn find, which was never in a barn.

Today on The Skid Factory, Al, Woody and Lee position the 1JZGTE into the engine bay of Lee's LJ Torana and unbox some shiny parts that arrived from Golebys.

Today on The Skid Factory the 1JZ position is finalised after changing plans and going back to using a rear sump. The steering rack position is also changed to account for the new engine position and the Engine mounts and gearbox crossmember are fabricated. Lee then drops around after a cage fight with Dr Snip.

Today on The Skid Factory, Al & Woody finalise the Crossmember Modifications and mount up the Nissan s15 Ebay Radiator utilising a bunch of new equipment courtesy of Hare & Forbes Machinery House.

Today on the change of plans factory, Al swaps out the shiny "Pro Mod" style exhaust manifold for a couple of standard twin-turbo cast items that are modified to suit a single GTW3476 Turbo. The Brake Booster and Master cylinder are then able to be squeezed in so the car will now be able to stop with ease.

Today on The Skid Factory, Work Continues on the 1JZGTE powered LJ Torana. The intercooler is mounted in place with plenty of room for the grille to be installed after lee hacks at it with a grinder. The Intercooler piping is fabricated and topped off with a Go Fast Bits SV52 BOV along with the dump pipe and Wastegate piping which is plumbed back to Atmosphere as requested by Lee.

Today on The Skid Factory, A new brake booster assembly has been fitted to gain some more room between the turbo and master cylinder. A Mild steel exhaust system is also fabricated. The engine is then removed for the 91st time so that the engine bay can then be prepped for paint next week.

Today on The Skid Factory, Al, Woody & Lee Prepare the engine bay for a respray by removing all of the old paint and primer and fixing up a few holes that need repair in the engine bay. Panel Beater Mark then comes around to share his expertise and helps respray the engine bay..

Today on The Skid Factory, its time to Re-fit all of the fabricated parts back into the freshly painted engine bay. The front suspension components are then bolted back on to complete the front end assembly..

Today on The Skid Factory, Al & Woody remove the ford 9" differential to inspect what axles and centre were previously installed.. The lower control arms are then strengthened and the transmission cooler also mounted and hooked up under the car.

Today on The Skid Factory, Woody & Al bend up some Front and Rear brake lines, Fabricate a shifter plate and install the shifter cable and also modify the XU-1 GTR Fuel tank to accommodate an In-Tank fuel pump and surge setup.

Today on The Skid Factory, Al & Woody make up some Fuel lines using a bunch of Raceworks A/N Fittings plumbing the Go Fast Bits FXR Fuel Pressure Regulator and relocate the battery into the boot running the cables through the inside of the car to a firewall isolation block.

Today on The Skid Factory, Al & Woody button up a few final pieces on the Torana build to get it up and running ready for Lee to arrive and attempt a shed skid.

With the completion of Lee's Torana and Justin's Volvo we head down to Lakeside raceway to race a few cars at an "Off Street Drag's" event.
