Laurent has returned to the law firm after a two-year absence. Two years during which a lot has changed. Gladys is suffering an identity crisis. Despite being the latest arrival, Damien has taken control. Elisabeth is under his dominations and he's turned Robert into something of a sheep.

Gladys heads to Belarus to defend a young Frenchwoman who could face the death penalty. She is surprised to discover that another lawyer is already working on the case; Serge N'Guyen, her ex-husband whom she hasn't heard from in years. Serge makes a dramatic revelation about Damien.

One of Laurent's clients manipulates him and manages to escape. Serge has returned to Paris but not to the law firm. Coincidence: he faces Damien in a case that opposes two friends, one of whom has achieved professional success thanks to the creative skills of the other.

Gladys defends a woman who tried to kill her husband. But several years later, the couple now seem very close again. Elisabeth helps a woman whose fiancé has died and who wants to be allowed to marry him posthumously. At the law firm, Damien's methods are becoming increasing intolerable.

Robert defends a woman who confessed to a murder simply to obtain the notoriety she craved. The members of the law firm discover that Damien has done something totally unforgiveable but agree to keep silent if he resigns.

Serge defends two Mafia bosses and finds himself in a very difficult position. Against all expectations and despite being banished from the law firm, Damien turns up to save the day and provides the witness that could turn the trial in Serge's favour. But Serge might live to regret it.
