In the picturesque mountain pastures, the lifeless body of a young dentist is found, plunging the investigators into a thick fog. Very quickly, tenacious suspicions tarnished the reputation of the prosecutor Chappaz when his name was linked to this chilling case. An old case has resurfaced, dating from the time when he was an investigating judge, threatening to haunt him. Cassandra and her family then embark on a race against time to unravel the intertwined threads of this murder, before the insidious doubt tarnishes the prosecutor's honor.

A tragedy strikes an urban dance school, when the director is pushed out of one of the windows, losing her life. Teachers and students are in shock. A former prima ballerina of the Paris Opera and her own daughter seem to have a very special and troubled relationship with the victim's husband. Inspector Cassandre and the members of her team find themselves immersed in an environment where relationships are complex and secrets are well kept. They strive to shed light on all the interpersonal ties of the establishment.
