I think that you could also use this as a test to determining how much magnetic Iron is present by replacing the penny with a series of known masses once you find how strongly the magnet is attracted you could calculate the quantity of iron.

My truck stalled just outside of town due to fuel pump failure. To get it back home Canyon and I rigged a hand pump (the kind used to siphon gas) to pressurize the fuel manifold.
