On this episode of the Emmy-nominated series, Su-Mei follows the trail of Kishu traveling from the groves of Rancho del Sol Farms to Specialty Produce a purveyor prized by local chefs that makes it possible for small growers like Rancho del Sol to get their products to market.

San Diego's many community gardens serve their surrounding neighborhoods in a variety of ways. On this episode of teh Emmy-nominated series, Su-Mei visits two unique growing grounds, New Roots Garden in City Heights and Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center in National City to see how they grow healthy foods and cultivate better communities.

She then heads to Hillcrest's Whole Foods Market to discover how local products like Bella Vado find their way onto area retail shelves.

In this episode of the Emmy-nominated series, Su-Mei visits Noel Stehly of Stehly Farms in Valley Center to learn how a modern organic farmer operates in San Diego. She then follows some of the farm’s produce to the Linda Vista Farmer’s Market. At the market, Su-Mei creates a delicious rice salad using the freshly harvested ingredients from the farm.
