Bad Woman, Good Woman

Geon-wu and his family are on their way to Saipan for his seminar. On the plane to Saipan, Seo-gyeong is surprised to see Geon-wu. He tells her that he changed his flight schedule so that he could see her and kisses her passionately. He even changes his hotel reservation to be with her. At the hotel, they exchange meaningful glances and rejoin their respective families. As his daughter Jin-a and Se-yeong take in the scenic ocean view, Geon-wu stares at his family, deep in thought. Tae-wook meets Ji-woo at the hotel and falls instantly in love with her at first sight. He eavesdrops on a conversation between his nephew Wu-ram and Jin-a and confirms that Ji-woo is single. He happily daydreams about his next encounter with Ji-woo. Bong-dal gives a new car to Seo-gyeong as a present. She goes on a test drive in the new car with a heavy heart. Seo-gyeong’s colleague So-young, who is suspicious of Seo-gyeong’s strange behavior, sees a receipt for property tax that fell from Seo-gyeong’s desk and is mystified by it.

Suddenly lucid, Ms. Song asks Gyeong-seon if she gave her the deed to the lands in Yangpyeong. Se-yeong jokes that she will look for the deed and split the land 50- 50 with Gyeong-seon when she finds it. Meanwhile, Geon-wu is cooking and waiting for Seo-gyeong at their hideaway in Yangpyeong. Bong-dal comments that his life is boring and subtly asks his son, Tae-hyeon, about their marriage and if they’re having any trouble. Tae-hyeon is surprised by his father’s sudden question but assures him that his love for his wife Seo-gyeong is as strong as ever. Meanwhile, Seo-gyeong is happily spending quality time with Geon- wu. Geon-wu panics when his daughter smells Seo-gyeong’s perfume on him. Seo- gyeong is driving back to Yangpyeong because she left something at the Yangpyeong cottage when Tae-hyeon calls to take her out to dinner.

Tae-hyeon goes to the hospital where Seo-kyeong works to take her out to dinner but she’s already on her way to Yang-pyeong. Geon-wu is startled by a suspicious glare from his daughter as he talks on the phone with Seo-kyeong. His face hardens when Se-yeoung asks him about the dog hairs that are constantly on his clothes. While out walking with Wu-ram, Tae-wook meets Ji-woo, who was in the middle of a shoot in front of a restaurant. Ji-woo and Tae-wook are both happy to see each other because of the pact they had made in Saipan, that if they happen to meet each other again in Seoul by chance, they would consider it fate. After Seo-gyeong returns from Yangpyeong, she tells Geon-wu that she can’t take it anymore and that they should divorce their respective spouses and marry each other. But Geon-wu refuses to give her a definitive answer.

Ms. Song again orders Se-yeong to find the deed for the lands in Yangpyeong. Se- yeong assures her that she will find the deed if they indeed have it. However, Geon- wu has already built a cottage on the lands in Yangpyeong and is carrying on his affair there with Seo-gyeong. He contemplates Seo-gyeong’s remarks on how the cottage is no longer a safe place for them to meet. So-young still has feelings for Tae-hyeon. She calls him and plays some music for him on the phone. However, Seo-gyeong was the one who had answered the phone and remarks on the strange phone call. She grows suspicious of her husband. Seo-gyeong is scared out of her wits when So-young who saw the property tax receipt, casually asks her if she bought a house in Yangpyeong. Meanwhile, Ji-woo’s vision suddenly turns blurry in the middle of a shoot and she visits her doctor, Sang-jin, for some tests. Meanwhile, Se-yeong visits her gynecologist and is confused when her doctor informs her that there is nothing wrong with her.

It’s been a long time since his family got together so Bong-dal gathers his family together and buys dinner. Mal-ja tells Seo-gyeong to buy a watermelon for the family. Seo-gyeong feels guilty over her neglect of her son. But Wu-ram, who is oblivious to his mom’s feelings, prefers to spend time with his dad. Tae-hyeon tries to be romantic and carries his wife to their bed but she struggles to push him away and hits him in the face by mistake. Gyeong-seon is worried about Se-yeong’s infertility. She cares a lot for her winsome and affectionate daughter-in-law, who takes care of Ms. Song without any complaint. Se-yeong receives a call from Jin-a’s teacher and hurries over to the school. She becomes sad over a picture Jin-a drew with two moms in it. So-young meets Mal-ja while on her way to a meeting with Tae-hee. Uncomfortable over the fact that So-young is still single, Mal-ja harasses So-young about the feelings she still has for Tae-hyun and tells her to forget him.

Se-yeong worries about Jin-a and asks Geon-wu about Jin-a’s biological mother. Geon-wu is quiet for a minute and tells her that Jin-a’s only mother is Se-young and in a cold voice reminds her about their promise not to speak about Jin-a’s biological mother. Geon-wu assures Se-yeong that Jin-a’s real mom went to the U.S and will never come back. Ji-woo interviews Tae-wook, who is an expert in costume parties. In the middle of the interview, Tae-wook reveals his feelings for her. Tae-wook suddenly shows up at Ji-woo’s office as she gossips about their relationship. Ji-woo was in the middle of remarking that she is not sure whether she and Tae-wook are fated lovers or enemies and turns around in surprise at Tae-wook’s sudden appearance. So-young finds pieces of Geon-wu’s card in Seo-gyeong’s trashcan and puts it back together. She is deep in thought as she stares at the card. Se-yeong is surprised by a picture of Seo-gyeong by a river among the bunch of pictures she found in Geon-wu’s drawer in his study.

Gyeong-seon goes pale when she sees a picture of Seo-gyeong on Geon-wu’s desk. She interrogates her son on whether he’s seeing Seo-gyeong again or not when he gets home from work. She worries when she hears that Se-yeong saw the picture too. Geon-wu assures her that it’s just an old picture and Gyeong-seon tells her son not to hurt Se-yeong because she’s so good to them. Geon-wu gives the same necklace as a present to his wife and his mistress. When Tae-hyeon sees the necklace on Seo-gyeong he compliments her saying that she looks good in everything. Unlike Seo-gyeong who feels awkward wearing the necklace, Se-yeong is ecstatic over the gift. When Jin-a tells her to take more care of her appearance, Se-yeong remarks that she is afraid to spend the money on herself. Jin-a feels pity at her comment and hugs her mother. Meanwhile, So-young gets drunk while drinking with Tae-hee and talks about how she knows everything about Tae-hyeon. Tae-hee pities So-young and advises her to forget him. When Tae-hee helps her drunken friend to her apartment, she sees a picture of Tae-hyeon on the wall and is startled.

So-young lays her heart at Tae-hyeon’s feet over a drink. But she becomes resentful of Seo-gyeong when Tae-hyeon declares that he never had special feelings for her and he never will. So-young calls Tae-hyeon late at night and doesn’ t say anything. Seo-gyeong grabs the phone from Tae-hyeon and realizes that it is So-young on the phone. Gyeong-sun gives a day-off to Se-yeong, who never goes out, being busy with all the household chores. While walking along the cobblestone road, she reminisces about her dates with Geon-wu. She goes to see Geon-wu at the hospital to have dinner with him. Seo-gyong sees Se-yeong visiting Geon-wu and is thrown into an emotional turmoil. So-young looks through the text messages saved in Seo-gyeong’s cell phone and becomes sure that Geon-wu is Seo-gyeong’s lover. Meanwhile, Tae-hee warns Tae-hyeon that So-young is acting strange and tells him about the cottage in Yangpyeong.

Geon-wu takes his wife to a fancy restaurant and buys her a steak dinner. Seo- gyeong, who followed them here, sits in a corner and watches her lover with his wife. Geon-wu sees Seo-gyeong watching them and becomes agitated. Seo- gyeong calls Tae-hyeon out for dinner. He tells Seo-gyeong that if working with So- young is uncomfortable, then she can fire her. Tae-wook visits the production company where Ji-woo works and chit-chats with Ji- woo’s colleague, Ms. Jang. Ms. Jang, who is the president of the production company, decides to sponsor Tae-wook’s costume party club. She even agrees to let Tae-wook rent a room in the building to use as his workshop. Ji-woo is reluctantly impressed by Tae-wook’s persuasion skills. Tae-hee wakes Seo-gyeong up when they arrive at Seo-gyeong’s house. On their way in, Tae-hee asks if Seo-gyeong bought a house in Yangpyeong. Seo-gyeong is dismayed by the question.

Se-yeong is happy from her date with her husband. She pulls her husband on to the bed but Geon-wu tells her that no matter how she tries to seduce him, she won’t get pregnant. Se-yeong is immobilized with shock at his callous remark. Geon-wu regrets his insensitive remark and consoles her that it doesn’t matter and that they should give up trying. Se-yeong starts to cry because of Geon-wu’s attitude and Geon-wu soothes her while hiding his own heavy heart. Tae-hyeon suggests to Seo-gyeong that they should have another baby because Wu-ram might feel lonely as an only child. Seo-gyeong retorts that it’s out of question and that taking care of the one child they have is hard enough. Tae-hyeon says he just cannot understand her even after over 7 years of marriage. Seo-gyeong has mixed feeling about his remark. Sang-jin informs Geon-wu that Ji-woo’s test results show that she has retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic disease that blinds people. Geon-wu starts to worry about his sister because their deceased father became blind from this disease.

Gyeong-sun and Se-yeong are confused when they find a receipt for a property tax payment for lands in Yangpyeong on Geon-wu’s desk. They realize that Geon-wu must have known about the lands in Yangpyeong but wonder why he didn’t say anything when Ms. Song raved about the lands. Seo-gyeong meets Geon-wu and informs him that So-young has found out about the cottage in Yangpyeong. Geon- wu starts to pack his stuff in the cottage and tells Seo-gyeong that they should refrain from getting together for a while. Tae-wook goes out for dinner with Ms. Jang and comes across Ji-woo and Sang- jin. The four decide to have dinner together and the two males wage a silent battle to win Ji-woo. Tae-wook informs Sang-jin that he is wooing Ji-woo. Sang-jin realizes that Tae-wook is speaking the truth and becomes more territorial. Meanwhile, So-young is waiting for Tae-hyeon at the bar, where Tae-hyeon is a regular. They have a couple of shots together. Seo-gyeong who couldn’t stand So- young anymore, gives her a letter of recommendation and asks her to seek other employment. Unlike Seo-gyeong, who is agitated, smug So-young replies that she’s been to the cottage in Yangpyeong and pointedly asks Seo-gyeong why Tae-hyeon doesn’t know about the cottage.

Se-yeoung asks Ms. Song what the lands in Yanpyeong are like and is surprised when she hears that Ms. Song kept the knowledge of those lands a secret so that she could leave the lands to Gyeong-sun. Gyeong-sun becomes suspicious that her son might be lying about how Seo-gyeong immigrated to the U.S when she thinks she saw Seo-gyeong on the street. Se-yeong reminds Geon-wu not to be late for Jin-a’s piano recital and starts getting ready for the recital with Gyeong-sun. Tae-wook takes Tae-hee with him to break up the date between Ji-woo and Sang- jin. When Tae-hee meets Sang-jin, she becomes very interested in him and the two exchanges their business cards. Feeling great, Tae-hee buys a bottle of wine to share with her companions and gets drunk. Tae-wook and Ji-woo get exasperated with Tae-hee’s behavior. So-young visits the cottage in Yangpyeong again and takes a look around the empty place. She finds an earring that Seo-gyeong lost. Geon-wu assures Seo-gyeong that he rented a new cottage and moved all their stuff there. However, he forgets about Jin-a’s recital and misses it. Seo-gyeong goes instead to see Jin-a from afar and Gyeong-sun, who was waiting for Geon-wu, sees her.

After having heard that So-young has left and is headed to Yangpyeong, Seo- gyeong calls Geon-wu in a hurry to tell him what’s happening. Geon-wu hurries down to the cottage and moves all their stuff out. So-young arrives at the cottage and asks the caretaker, Mr. Kim, if she can take a look around. He replies that since the house is on the market she can go in. While looking around the cottage, So-young finds an earring in the living room that she is sure belongs to Seo-gyeong. Geon-wu calls his wife and lies to her that his club buddies are all drunk and he can’t leave them so he’ll have to miss Jin-a’s recital. Se-yeoung tells him to come as soon as he can. Meanwhile, Seo-gyeong heads to the recital in hope of seeing even a glimpse of her daughter from afar.

Jin-a doesn’t know that Seo-gyeong is her real mother and thanks Seo-gyeong for saving her. Jin-a then takes Seo-gyeong to a drugstore to treat Seo-gyeong’s wounds that she got while saving Jin-a. While Jin-a is cleaning her wounds, Seo- gyeong looks on with a bittersweet feeling. Jin-a shares her snack with Seo- gyeong to show her appreciation. When Seo-gyeong hears from Jin-a that Se-yeong’ s biggest wish is to give birth to a son, she feels guilty. In the grips of senile dementia, Ms. Song runs away from home. Se-yeong and Gyeong-sun finally finds her at the silk shop that Ms. Song used to own. Se-yeong starts to cry in relief at having found Ms. Song. She starts to talk about how she lost her family. Then suddenly Ms. Song regains her sanity briefly and she implores Se- yeong to find the deeds to her lands in Yangpyeong. Tae-hee becomes desperate in her efforts to attract Sang-jin. She finally resorts to calling him and asking him to come check on her nephew, saying that she thinks he is sick.

Geong-wu finds out that Seo-gyeong met Jin-a. He becomes defensive when Se- yeong starts to ask about Jin-a’s accident and lashes out at her. Afterward he is very repentant. Meanwhile, Se-yeong tries to be an understanding wife and starts massaging her husband to help him relax. She tells him to share whatever is bothering him with her. When Geon-wu tells her that she is wonderful and that he is always appreciative of her support, she asks him whether Jin-a’s birth mother was beautiful or not. Seo-gyeong wants to break-up with Geon-wu because she feels she owes Se- yeoung a lot for having raised Jin-a so well. She also feels guilty toward her husband and son and she is tired of So-young sniffing around. But Geon-wu begs her not to end things because he still loves her. Unbeknown to Se-yeoung, Geon-wu had a vasectomy done in the past. He asks his friend who is an urologist, if his vasectomy can be reversed.

To make up for missing Jin-a’s recital, Geon-wu buys Se-yeong a handbag from an expensive brand. Se-yeong is moved by his present and shows it off to everyone. Gyeong-sun warns Geon-wu again not to meet Seo-gyeong. Geon-wu presents Jin- a with a winter coat that Seo-gyeong helped him to pick out. Seo-gyeong tries too hard to get involved in her family affairs and Tae-hyeon looks on in concern. When suddenly Seo-gyeong mentions that she wants to see the sea in winter, Tae-hyeon takes her to the beach. So-young visits Tae-hyeon and shows him Seo-gyeong’s earring that she found in Yangpyeong and asks him if it’s Seo- gyeong’s. When Tae-hyeon replies that he doesn’t know, she asks him about buying an insurance policy. Gyeong-sun goes down to see the Yangpyeong cottage and falls in love with it. Not knowing that the owner is Seo-gyeong, she wants to meet the owner.

So-young bugs Seo-gyeong about her medical service volunteering, accusing her of using that time to fool around. Seo-gyeong tells So-young that she is a stalker and that she should seek professional help. When Seo-gyeong informs So-young that she knows everything that she has been doing behind her back, So-young just laughs in her face and asks her whether she truly loves Tae-hyeon. Ji-woo becomes irritated by Ms. Jang’s interests in Tae-wook so she complains about having to help Tae-wook sew his costumes for his costume party event when they should be concentrating on making their film. But Ms. Jang tells her to be nice and cooperate while informing her about the vision and profitability of the costume party arrangement business. Ji-woo begins to understand Tae-wook and after having worked over-time, they go out to play pool after work. Seo-gyeong receives the shock of her life when Gyeong-sun suddenly calls her to ask her about selling the cottage in Yangpyeong.

On the phone, Seo-gyeong tells Gyeong-sun that she has no plans to sell the cottage. Gyeong-sun is surprised by how young the owner of the cottage is. She vows to find out how Ms. Song came to own lands in Yangpyeong. A nurse catches Seo-gyeong secretly looking at a picture of Jin-a and Geon-wu is also caught looking at a photo of Seo-gyeong by his friend Sang-jin and is forced to show that picture to him. Geon-wu remembers the anniversary of Se-yeoung’s parents’ deaths and tells her that he will take her to their graves. Se-yeong is so touched by his unusually thoughtful act that she tells him not to worry and that she will go alone since he must be so busy with his work. Tae-hee is too restless to wait for Sang-jin to call so she decides to visit him at the hospital. Seo-gyeong takes her family to a sauna and she is surprised to hear from her mother-in-law that she did not give birth to her husband.

Gyeong-sun suggests that Se-yeong learn to drive after she gets back from her parents’ graves. Gyeong-sun feels pity for Se-yeong who is happily ignorant of all that is going on. She tells Se-yeong that she is always grateful for all Se-yeong’s done for the family and Se-yeong thanks her in turn for the wonderful family that she provided and also says that she wouldn’t be able to live like this if it weren’t for Gyeong-sun. Tae-hee is anxiously waiting for a call from Sang-jin and discusses her love life with her brother, Tae-hyeon, who dropped by to pick-up some cold medicine for their father. Tae-hee agrees with Tae-hyeon when he informs her that she needs to practice her dating skills to meet someone nice and be happy the way he and Seo- gyeong is. They are surprised by the fact that Seo-gyeong didn’t say a word about the secret of Tae-hyeon’s birth after she found out. Tae-hee is out on a date with Sang-jin finally. When Sang-jin cuts their date short because of a phone call from Ji-woo, she acts casual and accepting but after he leaves, she throws a hissing fit. Gyeong-sun takes Se-yeong and Geon-wu to a gynecologist and she is shocked when she hears from the doctor that Geon-wu had a vasectomy done in the past.

After talking with Sang-jin, Ji-woo becomes suspicious of Geon-wu’s weekend photography trips. She talks with Gyeong-sun why Geon-wu has no photographs to show for his trips. Ji-woo asks Geon-wu if he’s cheating on Se-yeong. Geon-wu is shocked by Ji-woo’s question and feels guilty. When Se-yeong finds out that Geon-wu had a vasectomy operation done in the past, she turns cold toward her mother-in-law, who hid it from her. She asks Ji-woo about Jin-a’s birthmother. While eavesdropping on their conversation, Gyeong-sun becomes anxious. Ji-woo informs Se-yeong that Jin-a’s birthmother is happily married and is living with her family in Seoul. Seo-gyeong finds out that her sister-in-law, Tae-hee, is dating Sang-jin and meets with Geon-wu to discuss this new development.

Seo-gyeong meets with Geon-wu and tells him about Tae-hee’s relationship. She wants to end their affair because sooner or later everything will blow-up in their face if they don’t stop now. However, Geon-wu tells her she is becoming worried over nothing and disregards what Seo-gyeong told him. He tells her that he does not regret anything because he loves her. So-young witnesses the two talking together intimately and takes a video clip of them with her cell phone. Ji-woo and Tae-wook have to pay for the camera they lost and borrow a new one. They decide to borrow some money and Tae-wook asks Tae-hyeong for some help. Ms. Song suddenly asks Se-yeong if she has prepared her burial clothes. Se- yeong is shocked by the question but realizes that she has to prepare just in case so she takes a picture of Ms. Song to use in the burial service with Jin-a’s help. Se-yeong finds a paper bag that used to contain Geon-wu’s medicine prescribed by an urologist. She becomes curious about the medicine and visits the hospital.

Se-yeong is shocked when she finds out that Geon-wu had surgery done to undue his vasectomy. Gyeong-sun has a bad feeling about Se-yeong and tries to get in touch with her. The doctor informs Geon-wu that Se-yeong has been at the hospital. Geon-wu meets Seo-gyeong and tells her that he is planning on having a baby with Se-yeong. Seo-gyeong tells him not to feel guilty about his decision but she cries nonetheless. So-young takes a video clip of Seo-gyeong with Geon-wu with her cell phone and sends it to Seo-gyeong when she is with her husband and son. Seo-gyeong is shocked by the clip and looks guiltily toward her husband who is ignorant of this and turns her cell phone off. Sang-jin asks Tae-hee to play the part of his fake fiancee when he goes down to visit his parents in the countryside. Tae-hee becomes mad and gets drunk...

Gyeong-sun hands over the household account to Se-yeong. Se-yeong is surprised when she hears that Gyeong-sun even plans to deed the house over to her. Gyeong-sun tells her that she is is like a daughter to her and that she trusts her even more than she trusts her own son. Sang-jin falls asleep in Tae-hee’s room and panics when he wakes up in the morning. Wu-ram mistakenly takes him for a thief and attacks him with Tae-hee and Tae-wook, who woke from Wu-ram’s shouts. While Tae-hee is busy trying to make amends for the bruise she gave Sang-jin and rest of the family just looks on with interest. So-young takes Tae-hyeon to Seo-gyeong’s cottage in Yangpyeong and takes a picture.

Tae-wook finally presses a visit to Gyeong-sun’s boutique from Ji-woo. Gyeong- sun is surprised by Tae-wook’s talent in needlework. She enjoys the visit from amiable and funny Tae-wook. Bong-dal finds out that Tae-wook lost his camera and that he borrowed some money from Tae-hyeon to replace it. Bong-dal orders Tae- wook to repay his brother ASAP. Seo-gyeong tells So-young to stop stalking her but So-young keeps on asking her about Geon-wu. So-young threatens Seo-gyeong by saying that she could tell everything she found out to Tae-hee but Seo-gyeong doesn’t reply. Se-yeong is curious about a button she found at Geon-wu’s car that looks like it’s from women’s clothing.

Geon-wu panics when Se-yeong gives him the button she found. Geon-wu lies and tells her that it’s a button that one of the nurses at the hospital must have lost. Se- yeong is appeased by his lie. Seo-gyeong feels sad when Wu-ram asks for a little sister or a brother to play with. Seo-gyeong is also bothered by the fact that So- young continues to meet with Tae-hyeon. Sang-jin informs Ji-woo that he fell asleep in Tae-hee’s room and that he wants Ji- woo to decide how she feels about him. Ji-woo is flabbergasted. Tae-wook visits Ji- woo’s family and tells them that he thinks he and Ji-woo are a match made in heaven. While on their way to Yangpyeong lands with Se-yeong and Ms. Song, Gyeong-sun is surprised to hear that the Yangpyeong lands were given to them by their archenemy, Yoon Choon-sik,

Tae-hyeon is concerned about his wife because he thinks she misses her father from the way she talked with him on the phone so he tells her that they should go visit her family in the U.S in spring. When Seo-gyeong replies that she can’t get away from her hospital then he asks if there is any way they could get rid of So- young. So-young contacts Bong-dal under the pretense that she owns some lands and needs his advice. She gives Bong-dal and Mal-ja gifts of expensive clothes and handbag. When Ms. Song, Se-yeong and Gyeong-sun arrive in Yangpyeong, they find the door to the cottage open and decide to take a look around. Gyeong-sun happens to come across the gardener and asks about the owner. She goes pale when she hears that the owner is a female gynecologist living in Seoul. Meanwhile, So-young goes to the gym that Seo-gyeong goes to and confirms that Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong has registered there as a husband and a wife.

Se-yeong cries as she tells Gyeong-sun that not having a child is bearable but that she won’t be able to bear it if Jin-a’s birth mother came and took her away. Gyeong- sun assures her that Jin-a is Se-yeong’s child no matter what and that would never happen. But she knows about the affair between Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong and secretly worries. Seo-gyeong prepares a present for Geon-wu to celebrate their 13th anniversary. She gives it to him on their date. They both remember the day they first met and long to turn back the hands of time. Tae-hyeon is spying on them from afar, full of anger and jealousy. So-young is also there. She slashes the tires of Geon-wu’s car and is about to do the same to Seo-gyeong’s car when she sees Tae-hyeon. Tae-hyeon comes home late that night, drunk. He hugs Seo-gyeong and Seo- gyeong is swept with guilt and remorse.

Bong-dal asks Tae-hyeon where he’s been because he’s been unable to reach him. Tae-hyeon hides his despair over Seo-gyeong’s affair and starts to make excuses but he becomes teary and blames himself for everything. Bong-dal starts to worry about his son’s strange behavior. Geon-wu gives Jin-a underwear, the present that Seo-gyeong bought for her. Se-yeong is surprised by her husband’s sudden attentiveness. So-young calls Seo-gyeong and warns her that Tae-hyeon is a time bomb, just waiting to go off. Seo-gyeong becomes angry and asks Tae-hyeon why is continues to meet So- young, but Tae-hyeon glares at her, his face ashen. Se-yeong goes to the department store to exchange the present that Geon-wu bought for Jin-a, but she becomes confused when she hears that it was a woman who bought the underwear, not a man.

Se-yeong becomes suspicious of Geon-wu and she begins to realize that Geon-wu has something going on with Jin-a’s birth mother. Gyeong-sun realizes that her daughter-in-law is beginning to suspect and vows to herself that she will stop Seo- gyeong from meeting with Geon-wu and Jin-a. Se-yeong can’t shake off her suspicions and even asks Jin-a about Geon-wu’s behavior. So-young informs Seo-gyeong that she met with Bong-dal to talk about the stocks in Seo-gyeong’s hospital and she offers to buy some. Seo-gyeong tells her that she will quit her job first before letting her do that but So-young replies that what she wants is not the hospital but her husband, Tae-hyeon. Seo-gyeong becomes enraged and slaps So-young when she starts to talk about how she loves Tae- hyeon more than Seo-gyeong ever will. Tae-hyeon is playing Go with Bong-dal when he receives a call from So-young that Seo-gyeong is with Geon-wu at a hotel. He is devastated by Seo-gyeong’s behavior.

Seo-gyeong has a drink with Geon-wu at a hotel bar. After he leaves, she calls her husband and asks him to meet her there. Tae-hyeon already knew she was there because of So-young’s phone call and is anxious. After a silent debate with himself, he goes to meet Seo-gyeong at the bar. Gyeong-sun scolds her son for not leaving Seo-gyeong and Geon-wu becomes angry with her and tells her that nothing can stop him now. Seo-gyeong tells Tae-hyeon that she is in love with another man and that she can’t stop. Although shocked by her confession, Tae-hyeon asks her not to leave him because he still loves her. He begs her to reconsider, reminding her of her duty to their son, Wu-ram. But Seo-gyeong tells him that she can’t live a lie anymore. Meanwhile, Se-yeong is surprised when she sees her husband looking at a picture of Seo-gyeong on his computer.

Tae-hyeon tries to spy on Seo-gyeong at the gym when she leaves for her morning exercise. Thinking she is with Geon-wu, he tries to barge in on her but the trainers at the gym stop him. After her exercise, Seo-gyeong goes to the hospital to work and falls asleep. Tae-hyeon heads home after making sure that Seo-gyeong really is at the hospital. Gyeong-sun meets with Seo-gyeong and tells her not to come between Geon-wu and Se-yeong. She also orders Seo-gyeong not to even think about building a relationship with Jin-a. She warns Seo-gyeong that if she becomes too greedy, she may lose everything. Seo-gyeong retorts back saying that she will never forgive Gyeong-sun for tearing her and Geon-wu apart. Tae-hyeon questions So-young about Geon-wu, asking whether he is single or not. He is shocked when he hears that Geon-wu is married and has a daughter. Meanwhile, Se-yeong asks Gyeong-sun about how much she knows about Seo- gyeong.

Gyeong-sun confesses everything to Se-yeong and tells her not to worry because she has met Seo-gyeong and warned her to stay away. Despite the assurance, Se- yeong is worried about Geon-wu and their marriage. Tae-hyeon sends flowers to Seo-gyeong with a card that plays a recording of his and Wu-ram’s voice. Seo- gyeong feels guilt and sadness as she listens to their voices. Tae-hee meets with So-young, whose driver’s license was suspended due to a DUI. She tells So-young that So-young is obsessed with Tae-hyeon but doesn’t say anything more when So-young insists that if you love someone, you do it with your whole heart. Sang-jin joins them and later comments on how lonely So-young looks after she leaves. So-young lures Se-yeong to the cottage in Yangpyeong when she comes to visit Seo-gyeong at the hospital.

Not knowing that Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong are together at the Yangpyeong cottage, Se-yeong heads there after a phone call from So-young. Gyeong-sun is confused by Se-yeong’s remark that Geon-wu must have prepared a special present for her. Seo-gyeong tells Geon-wu that Tae-hyeon knows everything and that she wants to live as a family with him and Jin-a as soon as possible. Tae-hyeon seeks a lawyer and asks about divorce proceedings and whether the spouse who had an affair could apply for a divorce. After the lawyer informs him that it is not legal for the cheating spouse to apply for a divorce, Tae-hyeon ponders upon this fact. When So-young comes to see him, Tae-hyeon yells at her that he is disgusted over her ruthless ways of gaining what she wants. He also claims to So- young that even if he loses Seo-gyeong, he won’t turn to her. Meanwhile, Se-yeong arrives at the cottage. She sees a picture of Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong and faints from the shock.

Se-yeong is so shocked by the secret affair between Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong that she faints. Geon-wu panics while cradling the unconscious Se-yeong and Seo- gyeong also trembles with fear. Geon-wu heads to Seoul with Se-yeong in his car. Meanwhile, Tae-hyeon heads to Yangpyeong after a phone call from So-yeong. Due to the shock she received upon discovering that her husband is cheating on her, Se-yeong suffers from aphasia. Gyeong-sun is disgusted over the fact that her son has been living a double life with Seo-gyeong. Despite her reaction, Geon-wu informs his mother that he loves Seo-gyeong and that no one can separate the two of them. Tae-hyeon finds Seo-gyeong inside the cottage and asks her which is the real Seo-gyeong. Seo-gyeong begs him for a fast divorce. Se-yeong is admitted in the hospital and she is displaying strange behavior. She hits Geon-wu and acts difficult.

Geon-wu tells Se-yeong that he is sorry and that he has nothing more to offer to Se- yeong except an apology. He also tells her that he’s been in pain because of his secret and now that Se-yeong knows, he actually feels liberated. While Geon-wu is talking, Se-yeong wordlessly stares at him but inside she is seething with anger and despair. So-young becomes friends with Sang-jin through Tae-hee and tells him about Seo- gyeong. She is confused when Sang-jin tells her that Jin-a is twelve years old. Then she suddenly remembers how Seo-gyeong used to stare at Jin-a’s picture and smiles with malice. So-young goes to the office even though it’s her day off and looks through Seo- gyeong’s picture album. Seo-gyeong catches her in the act and slaps her.

Gyeong-sun and Geon-wu are searching desperately for Se-yeong, who has disappeared. Meanwhile, Se-yeong is already at home asleep in Ms. Song’s arms like a baby. Jin-a tells her dad that the only person who can make Se-yeong cry is herself and dad and asks him to make Se-yeong smile. Geon-wu feels pity and guilt toward his daughter who knows nothing of what is going on. Tae-hyeon feels horror and disgust over how So-young tries to insinuate herself to his family. When Tae-hyeon tells So-young to leave him alone, she tells him that there is one more truth that he has to know. Tae-hyeon becomes angry and yells at her but after he sees Jin-a’s picture and discovers the secret of her birth, he feels despair. Se-yeong goes into Geon-wu’s study and suddenly becomes enraged. She tears up the place and everything she can lay her hands on.

Geon-wu holds Se-yeong, who’s lost her voice and is crazed, and tells her that he is sorry over and over again. He tells her that Se-yeong is more precious than anybody else and that he loves her, but Se-yeong continues to cry and feels that it is too late. Geon-wu feels pity for Se-yeong and vows to himself that he will do anything for her. Jung-sook meets with Mal-ja and tells her about some lands and Mal-ja becomes very interested in this land that is supposedly quite big. Sang-jin meets with Geon- wu and tells him that he is giving up on Ji-woo and that he is dating somebody else. Geon-wu tells him that no one else but the people involved can understand the relationship between a man and a woman. So-young visits Geon-wu’s hospital and introduces herself as Seo-gyeong’s friend.

Tae-hyeon finds out about Jin-a through So-young. He tries to forget his pains by throwing himself into his construction work. Bong-dal is worried and annoyed by Tae-hyeon’s behavior but can’t do anything to stop him. Tae-hyeon is more attentive and caring toward his son than ever. Ji-woo gives two tickets to a musical to Geon-wu and tells him to go with Se-yeong saying that this is a chance for him to make up with his wife. Ji-woo and Jin-a takes Se-yeong to a hair salon and clothing store to get her ready for her date with her husband. At the theater, Se-yeong becomes emotional and cries over her date with her husband and Geon-wu becomes confused by her behavior. Se-yeong tells Geon-wu that everything is confusing right now and she needs time to get things in order. She asks for 3 months to come to terms with their current situation.

Geon-wu stops Se-yeong from barging in on Seo-gyeong in the middle on the night. Se-yeong is hurt that Geon-wu is more considerate of Seo-gyeong than her. Geon- wu begs her to refrain herself from doing something foolish for Jin-a’s sake. Se- yeong agrees with Geon-wu’s plea but becomes worried that Jin-a might find out about the current situation. Mal-ja falls for Jung-sook’s scheme and transfers $200,000 to Jung-sook’s account. Jung-sook cooks up a plan to pack up everything and run within the month. Mal-ja believes everything is in order because her husband has already gone over the deed. Se-yeong tells Ms. Song that she can’t forgive her husband. Se-yeong bumps into Seo-gyeong at Jin-a’s school and grabs her before she runs away.

Geon-wu believes that the time for Jin-a to get to know her birth mother has come at last and he thinks up ways to accomplish that. Seo-gyeong cries saying that she feels like a sinner in front of Se-yeong as well as her husband. Se-yeong becomes enraged when she finds out that Geon-wu was late coming home because he’s been with Seo-gyeong. Tae-hyeon informs his father that he will move out to prepare for the divorce settlement. Seo-gyeong tells Tae-hyeon not to worry about where she will stay after the divorce. He tells her that he is only taking care of where she will stay after the divorce for the sake of their son because their son will miss her if she moves to the U.S. Tae-hyeon is angry at Seo-gyeong for only thinking of Jin-a and not Wu-ram. Meanwhile, Se-yeong goes to see Seo-gyeong at the hospital.

Se-yeong finally meets with Seo-gyeong. She is shocked to find the same necklace that she is wearing on Seo-gyeong’s neck. Se-yeong snaps her necklace off her neck and informs Seo-gyeong that she can have Geon-wu but never Jin-a. Seo- gyeong replies that since she is the birth mother, she’d like to see Jin-a too and Se- yeong tells her that now is not the time. So-young gives Se-yeong her business card and tells her that she’ll help in anyway she can. Geon-wu decides to arrange a meeting between Seo-gyeong and Jin-a. Tae-hyeon takes So-young for a ride in the country. Bong-dal worries that So- young is coming to their house so often and tells her not to stir up any trouble between Tae-hyeon and Seo-gyeong. Sang-jin searches Geon-wu’s desk for some papers he needs and instead he finds some pictures. He shows these to Tae-hee, thinking it strange.

Geon-wu takes Jin-a with him to meet with Seo-gyeong. Seo-gyeong tells her that she is her birth mother but Jin-a rejects her saying that Se-yeong is her only mother. Jin-a tells them that her only mother is Se-yeong and she doesn’t want to be apart from her. Seo-gyeong becomes dejected after seeing how Jin-a only wants Se -yeong. In one of her clearer moments, Ms. Song tells Gyeong-sun that the lands in Yangpyeong were meant for her. Gyeong-sun asks for her statement saying that in order to reclaim those lands from her son, she needs her help. Se-yeong finds out about Jin-a’s meeting with Seo-gyeong and argues with Geon- wu when she suddenly faints.

Tae-hee goes to So-young to verify the truth about Seo-gyeong’s affair and she accuses So-young of driving the wedge between Seo-gyeong and Tae-hyeon and making the situation worse. So-young argues that although she loves Tae-hyeon, she didn’t make Seo-gyeong have an affair. Tae-hee is very angry at Seo-gyeong and says that she can’t forgive her. However, So-young insists that Seo-gyeong is not a bad person but someone to be pitied because she can’t see the treasure that is right in front of her. Seo-gyeong calls her dad who lives in the U.S and cries on the phone saying that she misses him alot. Tae-hyeon becomes enraged by the phone call because he mistakenly believes that Seo-gyoeng is on the phone with Geon-wu. Seo-gyeong is worried about Wu-ram, who has a bad cold. Tae-hyeon sarcastically asks her if she is worried about her son now that she is about to leave him. So-young picks up Wu-ram after his private tutoring and keeps him with her. She calls Tae-hyeon to tell him that Wu-ram is with her and gets slapped by Seo-gyeong who’s been worried about Wu-ram.

Seo-gyeong fights with Tae-hyeon saying that So-young had no right to keep Wu- ram with her. But Tae-hyeon retaliates by saying that if Wu-ram’s tutors didn’t know Seo-gyeong’s face and believed So-young was his mother than the fault lies with Seo-gyeong for not being there for Wu-ram. Seo-gyeong becomes desperate and says she couldn’t help it and she doesn’t take the phone call from Geon-wu that came while she is arguing with her husband. Jin-a confesses to Se-yeong that she met Seo-gyeong and got her muffler back and Se-yeong is thankful toward Jin-a for caring about her feelings so much. She remembers So-young saying that she wants to help Se-yeong and she starts to wonder who actually owns the cottage in Yangpyeong. She finally calls So-young and asks her for the cottage address. After checking the ownership, she becomes enraged when she finds out that the cottage is deeded to Seo-gyeong. Se-yeong declares a war on Geon-wu to Gyeong-sun and Ji-woo and asks for their help and support.

Tae-hyeon se eks his wife after she left for a late night meeting with Geon-wu. Meanwhile, Se-yeong is shocked by her husband’s behavior when he leaves her to see Seo- gyeong even after she begs him not to. Gyeong-sun begs for her forgiveness saying that she has raised him wrong. Se-yeong wants to show Geon-wu that she will wait for him always and to prove it she stays outside waiting for him despite the cold weather. Wu-ram falls from a stone embankment and he is taken to an E.R. Seo-gyeong finds out about his accident after and she feels so guilty toward her son that she won’t leave Wu-ram’s side. Tae-hyeon is worried about Seo-gyeong and her behavior. Geon-wu tells Se-yeong that it’s too later for him to turn back and asks for her forgiveness and understanding. Se-yeong tells him that she is now sure that he’s going to leave her. Gyeong-sun calls her lawyer and plans to sue his son for stealing the Yangpyeong lands with the proof from Ms. Song’s testimony.

Geon-wu plans to mortgage the Yangpyeong lands to raise funds to buy a house for him and Seo-gyeong to live together in. Se-yeong finds the membership card for Geon-wu’s gym at his pocket while doing laundry and gets a hunch. She calls So- young to confirm her suspicions. Se-yeong visits the gym and confirms that Geon- wu is exercising with Seo-gyeong there. Bong-dal calls Seo-gyeong out and gives her an expensive purse. He tells Seo- gyeong that Tae-hyeon lacks many things compared to her but begs her to take care of him because he easily gets lonely. Seo-gyeong just cries while he is begging her. While storing his divorce settlement papers in his desk drawer, Geon-wu becomes slightly regretful.

Se-yeong signs up for a membership at the same gym that Geon-wu and Seo- gyeong is registered at and goes for some exercise early in the morning. Meanwhile, while searching for Geon-wu, Seo-gyeong sees Se-yeong with a trainer and she runs out in panic. Se-yeong sees Se-yeong running out. Sang-jin comes to see Se-yeong and informs her that Geon-wu has made up his mind about the divorce and that she shouldn’t give up yet. Sang-jin encourages her to be strong and see this through because this is more that just her problem. Se- yeong becomes teary after hearing Sang-jin’s offer of help whenever she needs it. Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong goes for an outing at a beach after they turn their cell phones off. So-young becomes agitated when she founds out about this.

Se-yeong finds out that Geon-wu tried to mortgage the Yangpyeong lands and she also finds the divorce papers and some advertising brochures of apartment complexes in his desk drawer. She feels betrayed by how he is preparing everything secretly behind her back. She begins to think calmly about her situation. Tae-hee tells Seo-gyeong that she knows what is going on and demands to know how long Seo-gyeong is going to be indecisive. Tae-hyeon stops his sister when she begins to demand that Seo-gyeong confess everything to Bong-dal and Mal-ja. Seo-gyeong tries to come clean but Tae-hyeon urges her not to, saying that he will agree to a divorce like she wants and that there is no need to get the whole family in an uproar. Seo-gyeong is confused when she receives a letter demanding that she demolish her cottage.

Geon-wu calls Se-yeong out and asks her in anger if she sent that letter to Seo- gyeong. He tells her that he knows Gyeong-sun is behind this and that there is nothing she can do that will make him change his mind. Se-yeong becomes angry at him for being mad at her and starts to cry. So-young invites Mal-ja out for a dinner and takes her to the restaurant where Geon- wu and Seo-gyeong are having dinner together. Mal-ja is surprised when So-young informs her that Geon-wu is Seo-gyeong’s old boyfriend and that she is still seeing him. Mal-ja is overcome with a sense of betrayal and So-young smiles behind her back. Se-yeong is in a state of shock because of her husband and she just walks into a random inn.

Mal-ja witnesses Seo-gyeong with Geon-wu and Tae-hee informs her brother that Mal-ja knows. Tae-hyeon is hurt and starts to drink. Meanwhile, the whole family tensely waits for Seo-gyeong. Tae-hyeon tells his father that all this happened because of his inadequacies and asks for his forgiveness but Bong-dal is so angry that he declares he will never forgive Seo-gyeong. Se-yeong is holed up at the inn with her misery while everybody from Geon-wu to Jin-a is looking for her. Sang-jin is disappointed in his friend because Geon-wu hasn’t even filed a missing person’s report and is generally acting uninterested in Se-yeong’s welfare. Se-yeong comes to her senses and asks for a job to the owner of the restaurant where she has fainted.

Because of her inexperience, Se-yeong makes many mistakes as she works in the restaurant. However when the owner, Gui-ok tells her that she should go home, she doesn’t listen. Se-yeong cries when she hears a voice mail from Jin-a, who is desperately searching for her and she stays up all night thinking about Jin-a. Geon-wu hears from the detective that they found Se-yeong at a small restaurant at a marketplace. He doesn’t believe the claim until he sees Se-yeong with a basket full of bowls on her head. He is stunned. Despite Geon-wu’s begging, Se-yeong insists that she has to work and ignores him. Tae-hyeon begs So-young to get out of his life but Mal-ja claims that she can understand So-young’s feelings and stands up for her. Jin-a goes to Namdaemun market in search of Se-yeong.

Seo-gyeong comes home with a present for her son but Wu-ram scarcely pays any attention because he is engrossed with the toy that So-young gave him. Seo- gyeong becomes depressed when she sees for herself that Wu-ram has become closer to So-young. Seo-gyeong tells Wu-ram that she has to go the U.S soon and that they’ll have to say good-bye soon and bursts into tears. When Se-yeong comes home, Gyeong-sun begs her for forgiveness because all faults lies in her for pushing Geon-wu to Se-yeong in the first place. Se-yeong tells Gyeong-sun that she is not worthy to be her daughter-in-law because now she doesn’t want to come home for fear of Geon-wu. Tae-hyeon is wasted and he mistakes So-young for Seo-gyeong and falls asleep with So-young.

Gyeong-seon tells Geon-wu that the only person who can bring back Se-yeong is him. However, Geon-wu replies that even if Se-yeong comes back to the house, he still plans to divorce her and that he has not changed his mind about marrying Seo- gyong. After Jin-a overhears the conversation between her dad and grandmother, she yells that she doesn’t need anyone and runs away. Tae-wook tells Seo-gyeong that he is concerned about Wu-ram and that he hopes she won’t go to the U.S after her divorce. Seo-gyeong informs him that she will be staying in Korea and apologizes for all the trouble she’s causing. Mal-ja is so angry toward her daughter- in-law that she demands back all the presents she has given to Seo-gyeong. Seo- gyeong is hurt by the way Mal-ja is acting but tries to restrain her anger. Meanwhile, Se-yeong shows signs of morning sickness while cleaning away the dirty dishes.

Seo-gyeong is hurt by the way her in-laws are acting and she seeks comfort from Geon-wu. However Tae-hyeon, who has been following her around, catches her when she is meeting Geon-wu. Tae-hyeon tries to drag his wife to his car and orders her not to meet Geon-wu until she is officially divorced. Geon-wu tries to stop him and hits him in the face. After seeing Jin-a skipping school to look for Se-yeong, Ji-woo goes to talk to Se- yeong. Se-yeong becomes worried about Jin-a and is distracted at work. When Seo- gyeong insults So-young by calling her a psycho, So-young asks her with a smirk whether Bong-dal and Mal-ja know about Jin-a. Se-yeong goes home to see Jin-a and meets Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong who came to see Jin-a as well.

Se-yeong comes to see Jin-a because she is worried about her but when she sees Seo-gyeong and Geon-wu, she is horrified. Jin-a becomes angry and says she will never see her birth mother. Se-yeong reproachfully asks Geon-wu how he dared to bring Seo-gyeong to this house and Geon-wu begs her to accept the fact that he is leaving her. So-young finds out that Seo-gyeong is looking for a house to rent and blackmails Tae-hyeon that she will tell Mal-ja about Jin-a. Tae-hyeon informs her that no matter what, his feelings for Seo-gyeong won’t change. So-young reaffirms her vow that she will get him in the end. Meanwhile, Se-yeong faints while working at the restaurant.

Se-yeoung realizes that she’s pregnant and that she’s been working too hard. Although she has long wanted this pregnancy, she feels despair at the situation between her and her husband. Gui-ok looks at Se-yeong strangely when she tells her that from now on she will not blame anyone and thank God for his blessings everyday. During his meeting with Mr. Yoon, Seo-gyeong’s father, Tae-hyeon tells him that he still loves Seo-gyeong and that he wants to start over with her. And Mr. Yoon assures him that he’ll not let Seo-gyeong go through with her divorce. However, Seo-gyeong tells her dad that she will do what she wants even if he orders her not to and asks for his forgiveness. So-young tells Mal-ja about Jin-a and the enraged Mal-ja kicks Seo-gyeong out of the house while accusing her of matrimonial fraud.

Geon-wu tells Jin-a that they will be moving out of their house to live with Seo- gyeong. Jin-a replies that she will not acknowledge Seo-gyeong as her mother nor go live with her. Gyeong-seon tries to dissuade Geon-wu by saying that he shouldn’ t act so thoughtlessly toward Se-yeong, who’s been a devoted mother to Jin-a. Geon-wu silences her by saying that it’s only right that Jin-a should live with her birth mother. Jin-a calls Seo-gyeong asking to see her. Seo-gyeong is happy that Jin-a wants to see her but soon becomes disappointed when Jin-a tells her that she’ll call her mother if that’s what she wants but that she wants her dad returned to his family. Seo-gyeong is at a loss and tells her that she’s waited so long to be Jin-a’s mother and that she wants to live with Jin-a. Mr. Yoon meets with Geon-wu and tells him that he will not allow Seo-gyeong to live with him until he gets his divorce.

Although Tae-hyeon informs Seo-gyeong that Wu-ram is sick, she coldly turns her back saying that she’s been kicked out of the house and that their marriage is over. Geon-wu rents and moves into the studio apartment he rented to live with Seo- gyeong and Jin-a. Gyeong-seon begs Se-yeong to bring back Geon-wu because she’s the only one who can do it. Mr. Yoon tells Tae-hyeon to never give up on Seo-gyeong. Bong-dal comes to see Mr. Yoon and tells him that he feels betrayed by the one person he trusted the most, Seo-gyeong. Bong-dal coldly asks Mr. Yoon to sell back Seo-gyeong’s share in the hospital but Mr. Yoon asks him to let Seo-gyeong continue to manage the hospital and that he’ll make reparations. Se-yeong starts to cry when she sees the baby clothes that Gui-ok gave her.

Tae-wook is worried about Wu-ram and invites Ji-woo over to cheer him up and meet his parents. Jin-a gets into trouble at school in anger against her situation at home and Se-yeong gets a call from the teacher. She becomes worried about Jin-a. Mi-ja’s and Jung-sook’s plan to snatch money and go abroad is well under way. When the money that Bong-dal is supposed to receive has been deposited, they finish their preparations. Bong-dal, who doesn’t know what is going on, asks Mi-ja to check and see if the money has been deposited. He is filled with hope of going to see the land he bought with Jung-sook. Mr. Yoon goes to see Gyeong-seon and is bitter about the fact that fate keeps pushing them together. When Gyeong-seon tells him to take Seo-gyeong home to the U.S, he is at a loss.

Tae-hyeon looks on as his wife hugs Wu-ram close at the emergency room. When Tae-wook calls Seo-gyeong his sister-in-law in front of Sang-jin, who’s looked after Wu-ram, Tae-hee becomes embarrassed. Sang-jin tells her that the only people who can resolve these problems are the ones who are directly involved. Mr. Yoon finds out that Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong have been living a double life at the cottage in Yangpyeong. He tries to resolve the current problem by first sending a present to Ms. Song via Gyeong-seon but Gyeong-seon declines. Meanwhile, Mi-ja and Jung-sook snatches the money and heads for the airport.

Jin-a tries to throw a party to celebrate Se-yeong’s and Geon-wu’s wedding anniversary. But Geon-wu mistakenly thinks that Se-yeong put Jin-a up to this and tells her not to do anything so foolish. Se-yeong is embarrassed. Jin-a gets mad when Geon-wu tries to leave and tells them to leave her alone. Bong-dal and Tae-hyeon are busy trying to cope with the aftermath of Jung-sook’s and Mi-ja’s fraud. They are surprised when they find out that Jung-sook is Mi-ja’s aunt and also a convicted con artist. Mal-ja confesses to her husband that she lent some money to Jung-sook and this shocks Bong-dal. Tae-wook sees Seo-gyeong with Geon-wu by chance and starts to worry about his relationship with Ji-woo.

Tae-hyeon is stressed out due to the mess at the office and Seo-gyeong adds to his problem by informing him that she will be taking Wu-ram with her when he is released from the hospital. Geon-wu decorates his new home with Jin-a’s pictures and Se-yeong tries not to hate Geon-wu while looking at the baby clothes that Gui- ok gave her. Ji-woo asks Tae-wook what’s wrong when she feels that something is not right. Soon-hae tells her to leave him alone and when Ji-woo asks her how she knows Tae-wook so well, she replies that she is interested in him. Ms. Song dresses up and goes to Munsan in a cab.

Ms. Song is at Munsan station all by herself and at night she goes to sleep on one of the chairs. Se-yeong and the other family members are looking for her desperately. Meanwhile, Ji-woo wants her brother to stay home rather than at the studio apartment for Jin-a’s sake. So-young calls Geon-wu and tells him to take Seo-gyeong away as soon as he can. Mr. Yoon meets with Tae-hyeon, who is busy dealing with his company’s bankruptcy, and asks him to lead the education division in his foundation. Tae- hyeon replies that now is not the time due to his situation with Seo-gyeong. However, Mr. Yoon yells at him that he should think of Seo-gyeong first rather than of himself. So-young confronts Seo-gyeong at the hospital and accuses her that Geon-wu might be Wu-ram’s biological father as well.

Se-yeong accidentally reads Jin-a’s diary and goes to see Seo-gyeong at her hospital. Se-yeong asks Seo-gyeong to turn everything back the way it was and that she’ll continue to raise Jin-a. Seo-gyeong becomes silent and thoughtful when she hears from Se-yeong that she could lose both children or gain both. Jin-a becomes lax in her schoolwork and hangs out with the wrong crowd. Tae-hee is in despair since she might have to sell her pharmacy. But she is overcome with emotion when So-young offers to loan her the money to make a move to a different location. Meanwhile, So-young becomes anxious when Seo-gyeong and Tae-hyeon’s divorce proceedings are not moving fast enough to suit her. So she goes to see Mal-ja and tells her that Mr. Yoon is planning to take Wu-ram to the U.S. So-young clips Wu-ram’s nails for him and hides some sample so she can do a DNA test to see if he is really Tae-hyeon’s biological son.

Seo-gyeong tries to persuade Geon-wu that they should go back to their respective families but Geon-wu argues that their love is the most important thing and that they should not give up until they accomplish what they set out to do. When her father calls, Seo-gyeong goes to her home. When she sees Tae-hyeon asleep, she worries about him. Jin-a continues to go to places like internet cafes and Se-yeong becomes worried for her. She begs Jin-a to stop and that she’ll do anything that Jin-a wants. However, Jin-a accuses her of abandoning her. She yells at Se-yeong that she’s not even her real mother and Se-yeong is at a loss for words. At Geon-wu’s studio apartment, Jin-a unexpectedly meets Seo-gyeong.

While searching for some fabric at the company storage room, Ji-woo and Tae-wook are locked in by the security guard, who thought the room was empty. Stuck there without even their cell phones, they begin to talk and Ji-woo confesses her hurt feelings at how Tae-wook pays more attention to Soon-hae lately. Tae-wook explains that it was a ploy to make Ji-woo jealous and suddenly kisses her. Mr. Yoon meets with Gyeong-seon and asks her if she still blames him for the loss of her family lands. Then he explains that he wasn’t the one who introduced Geon- wu’s deceased father to gambling that consequently led to the loss. Despite the explanation, Gyeong-seon tells him that she doesn’t want her family to associate with his and asks him for his help in stopping Seo-gyeong and Geon-wu.

Tae-hyeon tells Seo-gyeong to leave him because his business has gone under and that he can’t support her anymore. Then he gives her the divorce papers, which he has signed already. Tae-hee becomes anxious as she worries that Sang-jin has been more attracted to her family wealth than her. And Sang-jin comforts her by telling her that he is coming to like her more and more and that he’ll protect her. When Ms. Song asks her about her baby, Se-yeong becomes worried that she knows about her pregnancy. Gyeong-seon finds out that Se-yeong has been to Geon-wu’s new apartment to see Jin-a. Gyeong-seon believes God will punish her son for his transgressions. So-young goes to see her friend at a DNA testing lab and asks for a test on Wu-ram and Tae-hyeon.

Mr. Yoon is aware that Tae-hyeon is going through some financial troubles and tries to help but Seo-gyeong stops him saying that Tae-hyeon wouldn’t want his help. Seo-gyeong agrees when her father orders her to get rid of the cottage in Yangpyeong, then she hands him her divorce papers and asks him to process it. Tae-hyeon goes to see his friend who works at a car wash and asks him for a job. While cleaning, Se-yeong discovers a steel box that Ms. Song had hidden. Ms. Song’s old diary and a letter she wrote to Gyeong-seon before she became senile are inside. Gyeong-seon cries as she reads that Ms. Song acted harsh toward her because she was afraid that Gyeong-seon might runaway due to her husband’s affairs. So-young meets with Tae-hee and talks about her doubts regarding Wu-ram’s parentage.

Se-yeong finds out that Yoon Choon-sik who gave the deeds to Ms. Song was the person responsible for Geon-wu’s father’s death and that that is why Gyeong-seon was so against her son marrying Seo-gyeong. Gyeong-seon repeatedly reads Ms. Song’s diary and feels sad that her mother-in-law didn’t express her love. Bong-dal and Mal-ja move to a smaller house and they feel sad to leave their home. Tae-hyeon also feels sad as he takes his wedding picture off the wall. He goes to where Mr. Yoon is staying to pick up his son. So-young meets with Se-yeong and shows her Wu-ram’s DNA test results.

So-young tells Se-yeong that Seo-gyeong gave birth to not just a daughter but also a son for Geon-wu and that she should divorce him without any regrets. Se-yeong tells her that it is none of her business but inside she is hurt beyond words. Se-yeong is so hurt by what she found out that she blows up while talking to Geon- wu but Geon-wu just ignores her. Geon-wu takes Seo-gyeong to an island without telling anyone but he forgot about Jin-a who is alone at his apartment. Se-yeong goes to bring Jin-a home during a thunderstorm. Tae-hyeon thanks So-young for her help with the move and Tae-hee’s new pharmacy.

Se-yeong catches a cold due to her trip in the rain to bring Jin-a home. Since she’s pregnant, she can’t take any medicine and is badly sick. While Geon-wu and Seo- gyeong are at the island having fun reminiscing about their past, Se-yeoung is having nightmares about being abandoned. So-young informs Tae-hee about the horrible results of the DNA test. Tae-hee cannot believe that Wu-ram is not Tae-hyeon’s son and she has trouble controlling her anger. So-young smiles with self-satisfaction as Tae-hee rages about how she’ ll tell Tae-hyeon about this deception herself. Mr. Yoon asks for Gyeong-seon’s help in locating Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong. He asks for her trust as they endeavor to keep their children from divorcing their respective spouses.

Tae-hyeon becomes angry at Tae-hee when she tells him about the DNA test results. He demands that she tell him who put her up to this. Tae-hyeon tells her that he’ll kill anyone who says that Wu-ram is not his son and he tears up the DNA test results while she watches. Tae-hee is surprised by her brother’s rampage. Ms. Song suddenly asks Gyeong-seon why she didn’t runaway when her son has been gone for so long. Gyeong-seon replies that she stayed because of her. Gyeong-seon is then surprised when Ms. Song tells her that she was harsh with her on purpose because she didn’t want Gyeong-seon to be unhappy in her marriage as she was. Mr. Yoon meets with Tae-hyeon and tells him that he wants to help him but Tae- hyeon declines coldly and walks away.

Tae-hyeon rejects Mr. Yoon’s offer of help and walks away. Troubled, Mr. Yoon orders his employees to find his daughter. Faced with Geon-wu’s firm resolve that he’s going to get a divorce as soon as they return to Seoul, Seo-gyeong is full of doubts and misgivings. When Ms. Song asks about the baby’s due date, Se-yeong is surprised. She asks Ms. Song how she knew but Ms. Song has gone senile again. Se-yeong begins to have doubts about Ms. Song’s claim that she was mean to Gyeong-seon because she hoped Gyeong-seon would runaway. Geon-wu comes home, aggressively demanding that Se-yeong sign the divorce papers.

Tae-hyeon warns Seo-gyeong not to even think about seeing Wu-ram anymore. Seo- gyeong becomes suspicious about the reason for Tae-hyeon’s anger and becomes worried. Although Wu-ram is crying desperately for his mother, Tae-hyeon mercilessly takes his son away. Jin-a tells Geon-wu that Se-yeong doesn’t want the divorce and asks him to come back. However, Geon-wu has already made his decision not to. Mr. Yoon meets with Se-yeong and thanks her for raising Jin-a so well. Se-yeong asks him not to meet Jin-a if he truly cares about her. Se-yeong visits Seo-gyeong’s hospital to confirm her pregnancy.

Seo-gyeong pronounces that Se-yeong pregnant and cries as she informs her that the baby is healthy and well. Se-yeong asks her to keep silent since she doesn’t want anyone to know and also tells her that she’ll make Geon-wu comeback to her but she won’t use her pregnancy to do so. Tae-hyeon tries to make a business comeback with So-young’s lands and So- young willingly trusts and helps him. So-young makes innuendos about how Wu- ram is a great artist and she wonders out loud about from whom he gets that talent from with a smirk on her face. Mr. Yoon meets with Gyeong-seon to talk about Seo-gyeong and Geon-wu. He explains about the reason behind his dumping her in the past and begs her for forgiveness.

Mr. Yoon becomes worried when he finds out that Geon-wu is trying to sell his hospital. Geon-wu wants to immigrate with Seo-gyeong and he tells Sang-jin to look for a new job soon. Sang-jin assures him that he’ll have no problem finding a new job. But he warns Geon-wu that Geon-wu’ll find life as a something other than a physician very difficult to live. Tae-hyeon launches his architecture firm with a help of his friend, Sang-chul. Wu- ram becomes angry at his dad’s strict warning not to see his mom and gives him the cold-shoulder treatment. So-young warns Seo-gyeong that Tae-hyeon is full of revenge and has started a new job. While hurrying to meet with Seo-gyeong, Geon-wu has a car accident.

Seo-gyeong feel bitter as she watches So-young replace her in a family dinner with Tae-hyeon, Wu-ram and others. When Wu-ram sees his mom, he tries to go to her but Mal-ja yells at Seo-gyeong to go away as she holds him back. Tae-hyeon rejects Seo-gyeong. Seo-gyeong hears about Geon-wu’s car accident and hurries to the hospital. Se-yeong also finds out about the accident from Sang- jin and is shocked at the news. Gyeong-seon turns Seo-gyeong away when she sees her at the hospital. Tae-hyeon tells Seo-gyeong that everything is over and that he wants to finalize their divorce.

When Se-yeong insists that she’ll take care of Geon-wu, he is wary of her help. Se- yeong insists that she just doesn’t want a stranger taking care of him and assures him that she’ll go once he is well. While Se-yeong goes out for something, he calls Seo-gyeong and Se-yeong catches him in the act. Tae-hyeon and Seo-gyeong agrees to a divorce with Tae-hyeon having custody of their son. They go to the court to finalize it. Mr. Yoon tries to stop them but he is too late. They receive their copy of the divorce papers in silence. Se-yeong goes to Gui-ok’s restaurant to buy the soup that Geon-wu wants to eat. However, she becomes angry when Geon-wu insists on a divorce. While she is taking away the dishes, she suddenly feels nauseous.

Sang-jin tells Se-yeong that he hopes she’ll make a fresh start without any regrets but she replies that she can’t give up on her family. Sang-jin pities her and warns her of Geon-wu’s intention to sell his hospital and immigrate with Seo-gyeong. He also tells her that marrying Seo-gyeong has become Geon-wu’s life’s goal. Se- yeong is shocked anew when she hears about this. Geon-wu informs his mother of Seo-gyeong’s divorce and his intent on getting his divorce as soon as possible. Gyeong-seon warns him that she won’t tolerate his divorce but she can’t stop him. Mr. Yoon meets with Tae-hyeon and asks him to take Seo-gyeong back but Tae-hyeon shouts that that’s not possible. Se-yeong carefully prepares some dishes for Geon-wu. While visiting him at the hospital, she finds an earring on the floor and turns white at the implication.

Se-yeong finds Seo-gyeong’s earring at Geon-wu’s hospital room and yells at him in anger. Geon-wu tells her that Seo-gyeong has gotten a divorce and that Se- yeong can’t stop what is inevitable. Se-yeong tells him that she won’t give him a divorce not because she wants him but because she has to protect her family. So-young calls Sang-jin and asks him to come to her birthday party with Tae-hee. Then she asks him whether Geon-wu has gotten a divorce yet. So-young tells Sang-jin that Se-yeong is pregnant but Sang-jin doesn’t relay that to Geon-wu. Se-yeong calls the real estate agency that Geon-wu is using to buy his hospital.

Gyeong-seon goes to Geon-wu’s house to clean up when Se-yeong asked her to. Meanwhile, Jin-a meets Seo-gyeong who is waiting outside. Ji-woo is concerned by how Se-yeong is devoted to Geon-wu even when he’s trying to divorce her. But Se-yeong tells her that she can be stubborn too and that a divorce is not what she’s aiming for. Mr. Yoon warns Seo-gyeong to stay away from Geon-wu and that he’s going to drag her with him to the U.S even if he has to rent a private plane to do so. However, Seo-gyeong is firm in her resolve to go far away with Jin-a and Geon-wu. Geon-wu comes home only to get his passport and his personal effects but he receives a strong set down from Ms. Song, who suddenly becomes lucid for a short term.

Seo-gyeong misses Wu-ram and goes to see Tae-hyeon for his permission. But Tae-hyeon denies her request saying that since she’ll be leaving soon, she shouldn’ t make things difficult for Wu-ram. Mal-ja locks Wu-ram in a room when he cries for his mother. Ji-woo goes to Se-yeong’s room for something and she finds a diary of Se-yeong’s pregnancy. She wonders why Se-yeong is keeping this secret when she’s wanted it for so long. Se-yeong hears that Sang-jin is soon to be married and she regrets that he’s not marrying Ji-woo. Tae-hyeon is full of thoughts of revenge and tries to buy Geon-wu’s hospital.

Geon-wu plans for his and Seo-gyeong’s immigration to a small seaside village in Australia. He is very excited about his plans and tells Seo-gyeong that living in that village is his dream come true. He wants to live there for the rest of his life with Seo- gyeong providing free medical services. However, Seo-gyeong is not so sold on the idea since she has a lot to deal with. Tae-wook can’t hide his secret any longer and confesses it all to Ji-woo. Tae-wook declares that no matter what happens, their love will not change. After Ji-woo finds out about her brother and Seo-gyeong’s relationship, she is stunned by the twisted fate. But she still wants to marry Tae-wook. So-young calls Geon-wu and insidiously asks him if Wu-ram is his child.

Ji-woo tells Gyeong-seon about Se-yeong’s pregnancy. Gyeong-seon is overjoyed. Gyeong-seon informs Geon-wu of Se-yeong’s pregnancy and tells him to come home but Geon-wu argues that Se-yeong must get an abortion because he doesn’t want the child. So-young blames Seo-gyeong for abandoning Wu-ram and proposes to Tae-hyeon. Tae-hyeon just stares at her without saying anything as So-young goes on about getting married so he can get back at his ex-wife. Tae-hyeon tells her that he can never erase the love for Seo-gyeong. So-young is so angered over this that she shouts at Tae-hyeon that Seo-gyeong is eating away at his soul. Tae-hyeon sends his employee to Geon-wu to buy his hospital building.

Geon-wu meets with Se-yeong and asks her how she got pregnant. Se-yeong is speechless with anger as Geon-wu accuses her of lying to tie him to her. Se-yeong informs him that Seo-gyeong has confirmed her pregnancy and that she is not getting an abortion. While watching her parents fight, Jin-a declares that she will stay by Se-yeong’s side. Gyeong-seon tells Mr. Yoon about her daughter-in-law’s pregnancy and asks him to take care of things so that she can be at peace and enjoy this happy event. Mr. Yoon tells her that her son is as stubborn as his father and that if Geon-wu’s father hadn’t taken Gyeong-seon away from him, none of this would have happened. Gyeong-seon is confused by Mr. Yoon’s words and it just seems like excuses to her. Se-yeong tries to buy Geon-wu’s hospital and goes to see Tae-hyeon when she hears that he had already bought it.

When Se-yeong asks Tae-hyeon to sell Geon-wu’s hospital to her, he feels a maelstrom of emotions. She declares that she’s going to change the things back to the way they were and he gives her his business card and tells her that he’ll sell the hospital to her when she really needs it. Mr. Yoon meets with Jin-a and tells her that he is her grandfather and that he’ll help her get her father back home. Se-yeong knows that Mr. Yoon met with Jin-a but says nothing over it knowing that blood calls to its own. Meanwhile, Seo-gyeong sees a lover’s ring on So-young’s finger and becomes moody.

Tae-hyeon gives his wedding ring to Seo-gyeong and informs her that he’s going to marry So-young. Seo-gyeong is devastated and tells Geon-wu that she wants to immigrate as soon as possible. Gyeong-seon becomes worried when Se-yeong shows signs of miscarriage and tells her son to end his relationship with Seo- gyeong because her father is their enemy. But Geon-wu is firm in his resolve to marry Seo-gyeong. Geon-wu closes his hospital down and tells Jin-a that after he prepares their home in Australia, he’ll come back for her. But Jin-a replies not to bother because she’s never going to see him again. Seo-gyeong says good-bye to Wu-ram as well. The night before Geon-wu’s departure, Se-yeong goes to see him with Jin-a at his studio apartment.

Sang-jin and Tae-hee invite their parents to a small get-together to introduce each others familes. Bong-dal is wary of Sang-jin’s mother who seems formidable. Mal-ja becomes speechless with surprise when Sang-jin’s mother haughtily demands a house, a car and a hospital as Tae-hee’s dowry since Mal-ja will be gaining a doctor as her son-in-law. Geon-wu finishes packing and shows his airplane ticket to Se-yeong saying that their marriage is finally over. Jin-a tries to persuade him not to leave but it is no use. Geon-wu turns a cold shoulder to Se-yeong who is crying and begging him not to leave. Meanwhile, Mr.Yoon has arranged for a suspension of departure for Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong is stuck here as well.

Sang-jin’s mother visits Bong-dal’s home and is dissatisfied with the shabby home. She expects Bong-dal to provide a house to Sang-jin and Tae-hee when they get married since Bong-dal is a constructor. However, Mal-ja is so offended by her attitude that she tells Sang-jin’s mom that a doctor son-in-law is not so wonderful as she seems to think it is. Sang-jin’s mother is in turn offended by Mal-ja’s remark that she says she is going to have to rethink on the matter of her son’s marriage. Se-yeong becomes hopeful when she hears that Geon-wu hasn’t left the country. To prepare for his return, Se-yeong buys groceries and starts to cook but Geon-wu goes to see Seo-gyeong. But he suddenly can’t see and loses his balance. Meanwhile, Sang-jin calls Se-yeong and tells her that Geon-wu is at his studio apartment and encourages her to come meet him.

Se-yeong prepares the dish that Geon-wu likes and goes to see him at Sang-jin’s apartment. But Geon-wu tells her that Seo-gyeong is the only woman for him and treats her in a cold manner. While walking home in the rain, a devastated Se-yeong loses consciousness. So-young becomes worried when she hears that Seo-gyeong is still in Korea. Tae- hyeon also becomes annoyed when he hears that Geon-wu is at Sang-jin’s apartment from his friend Sang-chul. Tae-hyeon tries to calm So-young by telling her that everything is over between him and Seo-gyeong but So-young is still nervous as she prepares for her wedding. Se-yeong miscarries her baby and Sang-jin gives this news to Geon-wu.

Although the news of Se-yeong’s miscarriage brings a maelstrom of emotions, Geon- wu does not change his mind. Gyeong-seon cries with Jin-a when they hear about the miscarriage and says that her son will be punished by God. So-young prepares for her marriage and takes good care of Wu-ram. While watching So-young trying hard to be his daughter-in-law, Bong-dal feels regret that she is not Seo-gyeong. Tae-hyeon hears about Se-yeong’s miscarriage from Tae-hee and feels sorry for her.

Se-yeong becomes crazed from the shock of miscarriage. Jin-a and Gyeong-seon watches over her with saddened hearts. Ji-woo worries about her marriage with Tae-wook and Tae-wook suggests that they tell Tae-hyeon who she is. While trying to be a mother to Wu-ram, So-young tries to help Wu-ram with his school work and Wu-ram reluctantly obeys her. Seo-gyeong calls So-young who is with Tae-hyeon late at night and tells her to end things with Tae-hyeon. So-young laughs at Seo- gyeong’s concern. Se-yeong calls Geon-wu over and signs the divorce papers and throws a cup of tomato juice at him.

Se-yeong goes to see Seo-gyeong and after informing Seo-gyeong that she lost her baby, she throws water on Seo-gyeong’s face. Seo-gyeong holds on her temper and tries to reason with Se-yeong. But Se-yeong slaps Seo-gyeong and yells that she is going to press charges against her and Geon-wu for adultery. Seo-gyeong vows to herself that she’ll get Wu-ram back. So-young sees the locket with Seo-gyeong’s photo on Wu-ram’s neck and later she tears up the picture. When So-young makes Wu-ram lie to his father so that she can look good, he cries. Se-yeong goes to an expensive boutique and returns with a lot of shopping bags filled with clothes.

Gyeong-seon becomes worried about Se-yeong’s strange behavior. Se-yeong is very temperamental towards Gyeong-seon, Ji-woo and even Jin-a. Jin-a tries to talk to Se-yeong but she feels hurt when Se-yeong asks her to leave her alone. Geon-wu’s eyesight is failing rapidly but he dismisses it as a side effect of his car accident. When Wu-ram sees that Seo-gyeong’s picture is missing from his locket, he asks So-young where the picture is and she tries to placate him by telling him that she’ll get a photo of Tae-hyeon for his locket. Tae-wook and Ji-woo meet with Tae-hyeon and inform him that Ji-woo is Geon-wu’ s younger sister.

Se-yeong cuts off Geon-woo’s apology and tells him that she will send both Geon- wu and Seo-gyeong to jail. Se-yeong talks about how she can still hear her baby crying. Geon-wu and Gyeong-seon have nothing to say to relieve her pain. Se- yeong tells Geon-wu that he must also suffer the pain that she has suffered. Bong-dal grants Seo-gyeong’s wish to see Wu-ram. Bong-dal is afraid that Tae- hyeon will really marry So-young and Seo-gyeong shares her fears that Tae-hyeon is keeping So-young close out of revenge against her. Gyeong-seon tries to stop Se-yeong from pressing charges against Geon-wu. She is shocked when she hears that Wu-ram is actually Geon-wu’s son.

Se-yeong sues Seo-gyeong for having an affair with her husband. When Seo- gyeong receives a call from the police department, summoning her to the station, she is shocked. Geon-wu finds out that although Seo-gyeong is divorced, she and her ex-husband have not yet reported their divorce to the local government. Mr. Yoon brings Geon-wu and Seo-gyeong home. He faints when he is accused of hypocrisy by Geon-wu. Tae-wook and Ji-woo try to inform their respective parents about their love but have difficulties finding the right time to announce their news. Jin-a and Gyeong-seon become more worried about Se-yeong, who is becoming more and more unstable. Tae-hyeon goes to see Mr. Yoon at the hospital and runs into Geon-wu.

Geon-wu tells Tae-hyeon, who came to see Mr. Yoon at the hospital, not to meet Seo-gyeong anymore. Tae-hyeon stares coldly at Geon-wu as he tells him that he is only there to talk business. Seo-gyeong begs Tae-hyeon to reconsider his plans to marry So-young and he replies that So-young was the only one who was there for him when he was in dire straits and that he will make his second marriage work. When Geon-wu tells Se-yeong to drop the charges, she tells him to go away and take his family with him. Gyeong-seon has nothing to say to Se-yeong when she is in the right and just blames Geon-wu for his stupidity. Geon-wu vows that he’ll never forgive Se-yeong if she goes through with it. Meanwhile, Ji-woo finally confesses to Gyeong-seon that Tae-wook is Seo-gyeong’ s ex-brother-in-law.

So-young goes to visit Mr. Yoon at the hospital. Seo-gyeong doesn’t want to be separated from her son, who tries to hide from So-young. Geon-wu tries to see Mr. Yoon so that he can apologize but he is denied access by both Seo-gyeong and Mr. Yoon. Mr. Yoon says some meaningful words to Tae-hyeon. He also advises Seo-gyeong to go see Se-yeong and apologize with sincerity. Sang-jin tells Se-yeong that Geon-wu’s eyesight is failing and that he should go see a doctor. Se-yeong tells him that she no longer cares for Geon-wu and that she’ ll never forget the fact that Geon-wu abandoned his own baby. Se-yeong starts to work as a volunteer at a nursery. Gyeong-seon and Jin-a try to understand her. Gyeong-seon tries to cajole Se-yeong into letting Geon-wu come home again and Se-yeong vows that she’ll never let Geon-wu set foot in her house.

Gyeong-seon gets mad at Se-yeong for being so stubborn. On top of this, when Ms. Song who is unaware of what’s going on in the house, creates problems everywhere, Gyeong-seon feels miserable. Ji-woo loses hope for their future and tries to break-up with Tae-wook. However, Tae-wook tells her that they can overcome their families’ objections and that he’ll never give up. Mr. Yoon gets ready to go back to the U.S. He begs Tae-hyeon to let Seo-gyeong raise Wu-ram. Tae-hyeon replies that he’ll soon marry So-young and that he’s going to raise his son. Seo-gyeong goes to see Se-yeong. She sincerely begs for Se- yeong’s forgiveness and tells her that she is sorry for not having shared her pain as a woman and a mother. Seo-gyeong tells Geon-wu that she’s not going to Jeju Island and that she’s going to make her child her priority.

Se-yeong signs the papers that Geon-wu brought and drops the charges against him and Seo-gyeong. Then she torments Geon-wu by asking him how it feels to be working in Tae-hyeon’s hospital. Geon-wu gets angry at Sang-jin for not telling him that fact and thereby making him look a fool. Sang-chul tries to get Tae-hyeon to admit that the reason why he didn’t report his divorce to the local government is because he still has feelings for Seo-gyeong. So-young says she doesn’t know why Wu-ram is avoiding her. She is full of dreams about marrying Tae-hyeon and moving into his house. Before he leaves, Mr. Yoon meets Geon-wu and warns him for the last time but when Geon-wu threatens back by saying that he’ll expose Mr. Yoon’s murky past, Seo-gyeong becomes angry. So-young finds out that Seo-gyong has been meeting Wu-ram thanks to Bong-dal. Seo-gyeong is distressed over her situation and calls Tae-hyeon while drunk.

While drunk, Seo-gyeong tells Tae-hyeon that she wants him back and that she did so many unforgivable things to him in the past. Tae-hyeon doesn’t reply to Seo- gyeong’s begging. He takes her to Mr. Yoon’s home and feels many conflicting emotions when he sees her regretting her affair with Geon-wu. Ji-woo asks for Se-yeong’s opinion on her plans to marry Tae-wook. Se-yeong tells her that although she likes Tae-wook, she’s against Ji-woo marrying him. Ji-woo feels hurt because she thought Se-yeong would understand. Se-yeong advises her to talk things with Geon-wu. Seo-gyeong fires So-young and So-young tells her that she is pregnant with Tae- hyeon’s baby and asks to be congratulated.

When Geon-wu is sued for malpractice, Gyeong-seon asks for Se-yeong’s financial help in settling the suit. But Se-yeong turns a cold shoulder, saying that she doesn’t have any money and that she doesn’t care if Geon-wu goes to jail or have his license is revoked. Gyeong-seon tells Geon-wu to beg for Se-yeong’s forgiveness and come home but he refuses adamantly. Ji-woo goes to see Tae-wook’s parents. When Tae-hee informs Mal-ja how Ji-woo is related to Geon-wu, the whole family turns against Ji-woo and Tae-wook’s relationship. Ji-woo regrets not having been truthful earlier and Tae-wook proposes to Ji-woo. So-young becomes enraged with jealousy when Tae-hyeon meets with Seo- gyeong. She starts to take her anger out on Wu-ram.
