The Münster-based private investigator and life artist Georg Wilsberg has once again taken on one of the jobs he particularly loves: "Observing adulterous contemporaries", which means that Wilsberg is supposed to shade a client's wife and provide clearly ambiguous photos. What initially appears to be a harmless routine assignment then turns out to be quite a murderous affair, because shortly after Wilsberg has delivered the delicate photos, the body of a young woman is fished out of Lake Aa - the lady whom he had shadowed shortly before .

The private investigator and antiquarian Georg Wilsberg from Münster receives an order from an insurance company to monitor a garage near the harbor. Losses of damage have been reported there suspiciously recently. Wilsberg should take a close look at the owner and find out whether he or she stages the damage itself.
Wilsberg is rather displeased with the work, because a case of insurance fraud does not promise great wealth. But hardly concerned with the new case, Wilsberg stumbles across the body of an architect. This had designed the expansion of the creative quay at the port on behalf of a Münster real estate company. Before the police show up, however, the body is removed. Nobody believes Wilsberg, least of all Anna Springer, his "girlfriend" from the Münster homicide commission. No murder without a body!

When Georg Wilsberg drives to Havenbroich Castle to take a look at a library, he is amazed when he suddenly meets his outgoing student love Maria. On the way back, Wilsberg suddenly meets Commissioner Springer: the young biologist Lisa Berendonk was found murdered in the corn field that belongs to the Havenbroichs grounds. Since Wilsberg had met her shortly before, his curiosity was aroused immediately. He starts his own investigation and finds out that the corn on Havenbroich's field has been genetically manipulated - illegal field trials. Unexpectedly, Wilsberg is in the middle of an environmental scandal and finds several suspects. Perhaps Lars Jussen, the militant opponent of genetic engineering, is the perpetrator that Alex fell in love with? Maria's husband, Karl von Havenbroich, and Lisa's boss, laboratory manager Dr. Frank Buschfeld, would have had every reason to eliminate the attractive biologist.

Manni would like to proudly present his newest conquest to his best friend, the private investigator Georg Wilsberg from Münster: art student Sophie. Unselfishly and completely "without ulterior motives", he had given her the opportunity to celebrate her first vernissage in a warehouse, through his office in the Münster building department. The shoddy investigator is reluctant to come along. His relationship to art changes suddenly when Wilsberg looks at Sophie, because she is really gorgeous. The relationship between the two friends changes to the same extent because of small jealousies.
It's just a shame that the very next day this young lady lies next to her own works of art with her skull smashed. What happened? Accident or murder?

Georg Wilsberg actually only wants to do his best friend Manni a favor: he is supposed to prove that the car accident of Manni's uncle was caused by third parties, although all the evidence speaks against it.
Reluctantly, but under emotional pressure, the private investigator from Münster makes his way to Silke Buschfeld, the only witness to the accident. The fact that the journalist quickly gets caught up in contradictions makes Wilsberg sit up and take notice: what has she to keep secret?
When he finds out that Silke's friend Hans Haffner was also at the scene of the accident, this question seems to be answered. But before the detective Silke Buschfeld can be questioned, she is found murdered in her apartment.

Politics and innocence are mutually exclusive - at least Georg Wilsberg thinks so. Therefore, the antiquarian and detective initially accepts the order of his old acquaintance Mechthild Kerstenbrock with reservations. She is the wife of politician Wolfgang Kerstenbrock, who makes negative headlines in the middle of the election campaign. Kerstenbrock's former intern Gudrun Benningdorf claims that he molested her sexually. While the politician claims to be the victim of an intrigue, Mechthild is not convinced of her husband's innocence and asks the detective to find out the truth.
