Hopes and happiness, tears and traditions, drams and drama, as the folk of Glendarroch see out the Old Year and bring in the New, amidst family tensions and a police investigation. The Lachlans see in the Bells at the croft, but aren't expecting visitors, while Fiona faces a lonely New Year alone at the Ardnacraig until the locals turn up en masse to surprise her in style. Meanwhile Sir John shows off his traditional Scottish dress, Inverdarroch and Morag have an animal emergency in the barn, and old Jock makes his way back home to celebrate the New Year with his friends and neighbours.
