At Lachlan Farm, the family are awaiting District Nurse Kay Grant who has been delayed by Alan. The stranger from the bus, Ken Calder, has found Fiona repairing her car. He takes over and Fiona offers a can of beer but he reacts violently.

Ken admits he's an alcoholic. Amy has had a boy, Donald. Fiona gets Jimmy's help with supplies for Ken. Elizabeth is worried that Langeman wants to turn Glendarroch into a private estate. Jimmy overhears some home truths about his father.

Dougal is devastated by Amy's death. Kay demands improvements for the crofts. Ken gets a friendly visit from Duff's garage about competition. Langeman tells McIntyre his plans. Isabel gets a visit from David, her brother in law.

Elizabeth books her car in for a service to boost patronage of the garage. At the sawmill McIntyre sees surveyors on Laird's Point but Langeman denies any knowledge of their activities.

David explains why Brian is in prison for murder as Ken clears the graffiti from the garage. The village turns out for Amy's funeral. McIntyre turns down Langeman's offer. Bob has seen David with the surveyors by the loch side.

A reporter is investigating rumours that the estate is to be turned into a holiday centre. Semple reports that wood is going missing from the sawmill. McIntyre and Nurse Grant are having relationship problems.

Grace has contacted Amy's sister to ask for help with the new baby. Duff offers to buy out Ken but Maggie shows support by having her bus serviced. McIntyre argues with Dougal about his indifferent attitude to the croft.

Maggie complains her bus has not been service overnight. Elizabeth asks Fiona about her future career and contact her father Peter for help. Alice turns up at Blair's Store looking to get a lift from Dougal to Ardvain.

Lorna asks Archie to deliver fence posts to an estate property, but as usual has manages to avoid helping. Grace is worried about what the reported has told her. Jimmy puts his water sports idea to McIntyre.

Maxwell wants to interview Elizabeth about the big house. Dougal has stayed out all night but McIntyre knows where to find him. Ken thinks he has blown his interview about the fuel franchise. Archie thinks David Blair knows about his past.

Archie is acting strangely and David Blair announces his plans to get his brother free from prison earlier. Alan reveals a secret about himself that will change everything.

Fiona is run down after arguing with her mother so plans a trip to Edinburgh. Jimmy confronts David and warns him about bothering his mother further. Archie continues to avoid doing work.

Langemann announces that he doesn't plan to knock Glendarroch down. Business starts to look positive for Ken and there is a suspected thief in the village.

Alan goes to visit Andy Semple about the recent theft. Ken continues to get the business up and running but still awaits payment from Maggie. Elizabeth meets an architect about the renovations.

Dougal is showing little improvement so Alun confronts him. David asks Maggie about what exactly she remembers about the girl who was murdered in the village as he believes his brother is innocent.

Alan tries to figure out what to do with the problem with Andy. Dougal invites Alice to move in. Fiona returns from her trip and Alan goes to help John investigate the missing sheep.

Sheep stealing is causing problems in Glendarroch. Andy Semple's recent actions are the talk of the village and David chats to Jimmy about his father.

Ken struggles with his demons after losing their bid for the oil franchise. Dougal decides to take charge of the current sheep problem. Mr Cunningham tries to give Fiona some unwanted help.

Ken continues to struggle with the future of the garage, Alan pays him a visit with a proposal. Alice considers the possibility of moving out of Lachlan house.

Maggie panics after losing a big sum of money. David pays Isabel a visit and is given an ear full about his return to Glendarroch. Fiona takes her first steps towards a proper job.

A big day for the Lachlan’s on the day of baby Donald’s christening. Max’s plans with the Cunningham house come to light. Ken helps Jimmy with some repairs at the shop.

Jimmy and Isabel deal with the aftermath of the robbery at the shop. Elizabeth discovers that Max has been sneaking about behind her back with his plans for the Cunningham House.

Isabel is distracted after the recent news. Ken gets some good news about the future of the garage. David and Jimmy talk about his father. Alan and Elizabeth discuss Max’s motives.

Maggie speculates at what will follow with Jimmy’s water sports project. Dougal goes searching to bring back his wandering sheep. Jimmy has a meeting with Max to discuss his plans.

Jimmy’s despondent after his meeting with Max and talks with Fiona about leaving Glendarroch. A visitor enquires about Maggie down at the shop. Dougal continues to bond with baby Donald.

Jimmy returns from Glasgow. David drops into the Cunningham House to speak to Archie about his brother’s case. After returning to Glendarroch Sorry Watson bumps into Maggie at the shop.

Jimmy tells his Uncle David what his father had told him during his visit. Alice continues to spend time with Bob. Kay prepares a surprise for Alan which doesn’t go to plan.

Maggie tries to convince Sorry to invest in Glendarroch. Kay waits for Alan’s return to confront him about their relationship. Elizabeth tries to come up with a plan phase Max out of the business.

Alan questions David about his interest in surveying Laird’s Point. Dougal is asked to behave as Bob is invited to dinner at the Lachlan House.

Sorry meets with Elizabeth and Alan to discuss his plans. Archie pays a visit to Blair’s Store to speak to Isabel about Brian. David reveals to Isabel the nature of his business in Glendarroch.
