Conceived and executed from scratch in tandem with interior designer Jake Arnold and Pearson Design Group, the Paul residence purposely evokes childhood memories for the Idaho native. An invitingly large fireplace is the perfect setting for a morning game of backgammon, before heading outside to sled across the snow-covered yard with their daughter. When it’s time to come in from the cold, a charming sauna constructed from reclaimed cedar awaits.

Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to the New York home of Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his Tony Award-winning husband Justin Mikita. Decorated with sculptures that Justin has bestowed honorary celebrity names upon (like Tilda Swinton the papier-mâché giraffe,) the apartment feels fun, bright, and unmistakably theirs. The couple made a point of investing in and designing custom cabinets and storage solutions, wringing every inch of space out of their Manhattan digs. As a result, the living space feels sleek and comfortable while providing plenty of space for tucking away pots and pans or say, displaying awards. Did we mention that Justin has a Tony Award? Today Architectural Digest brings you inside the lush home of Hollywood star Dakota Johnson. The wood-framed house features wall-sized windows in the living room, perfect for highlighting the decorative crystals that pepper the space. From the books that line the walls of her home office to the fruit-bearing citrus trees in the backyard, Dakota’s home is a reflection of the things that bring her joy.

Today, AD brings you inside a den of burlesque royalty - the home of the incomparable Dita Von Teese. Dita moved into her 1927 English Tudor a few years ago and revitalized the once white walls with all of her favorite colors, some displaying memorabilia from the golden age of Hollywood. Her eye for vintage clothing has unsurprisingly translated into a decorating sense highlighted by vibrant artwork, vintage bric-a-brac, and charming antiques. A perfect example? She took a dining room set found at a flea market and reupholstered the chairs with her favorite fabric from a Jacques Garcia hotel in Paris. Befitting its singular owner, pieces of vintage taxidermy decorate the living room, adding an exotic touch the maximalist vibe.

A sunny vibe radiates through every room of the Duff household, a feeling curated across two renovations of the space in the past 8 years. Today reggaeton superstar J Balvin welcomes Architectural Digest for a tour of his tranquil Colombian home. Medellín-based design firm 5 Sólidos completely gutted the existing structure, reimagining the space as a serene, understated pavilion. Elements like blackened wood siding and shoji-like framed linen doors and screens point to the influence of Japanese aesthetics. Warm planes of French oak wrap the interiors, coupled with an array of pared-down modern furnishings. In fact, the palette is only interrupted by an eruption of color in J Balvin’s closet, where about 850 pairs of sneakers are displayed in what could pass for the world’s dopest shoe museum.

Today supermodel Kendall Jenner welcomes AD for a tour of her serene Los Angeles home. Kendall oversaw a year-long redesign of the space, working in tandem with designers Kathleen and Tommy Clements and the inimitable Waldo Fernandez. Just off the entry, a signature James Turrell ovoid wall sculpture greets visitors with a dreamy chromatic display, the first of many personal artistic accents woven throughout her home. In the TV room, a Cloud Sofa from Restoration Hardware has been reupholstered in slightly rougher fabric to better match the organic vibe. “I’m really proud of what we accomplished here.” says Kendall. “This is the first home I’ve done completely, and I think it’s a genuine reflection of who I am and what I like.”

Today, AD takes you inside the elegant New York City home of ballet superstar Misty Copeland. Two years ago Copeland and her husband, lawyer Olu Evans, purchased their dream apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and enlisted in-demand, L.A.-based AD100 interior designer Brigette Romanek to completely reimagine the space. From the dressing room designed in collaboration with California Closets to the colorful and spacious open living-dining room, the groundbreaking dancer, author, and social activist achieves perfect balance in her new Manhattan home.

From the spacious family room and sunny kitchen to the wine cellar and cozy home theater, Scottie’s mansion has no shortage of places to entertain guests. On those beautiful early summer days in Illinois, relaxing by the pool with the grill fired up and a game on the TV is a perfect way to bring the festivities outdoors. Plus, when it comes time to remind everyone he’s a six-time NBA Champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, a custom indoor basketball court awaits to be graced by one of the greatest players of all time.

Today AD is welcomed into the warm and colorful Los Angeles office of Hillman Grad Productions, the company founded by writer-producer-actor Lena Waithe and her production partner Rishi Rajani. Named for the fictitious historically Black college featured on “A Different World,” Waithe and Rajani have built a platform for BIPOC talents to take center stage in their own stories - and an office environment that reinforces their creative pursuits at every turn. The reception area is anchored by a massive vintage Steve Chase sofa that designer Amie Mays reupholstered in burgundy velvet, while graphic and prismatic wall coverings catch your eye wherever it lands. One wall in Waithe’s private office is covered in a salon-style hanging of images of trailblazers like Nina Simone, James Baldwin, Shirley Chisholm, Oprah Winfrey, and Prince. “Black artists have always addressed the realities of living in a house that is burning,” says Waithe on the topic of making protest art in the era of Black L

Today AD is welcomed by Rainn Wilson and wife Holiday Reinhorn for a tour of their rustic new home in Southern California. After over a dozen years in suburban Los Angeles, the former star of “The Office” was ready for something different, looking for a move closer to to the ocean with a little more space and quiet. Rainn and Holiday have made a beautiful home, bursting with personality, featuring breezy tiled porches and high-ceiling rooms lined with evocative art. A pair of friendly pigs are happy to come running for oat treats and pets from their backyard abode. And of course Rainn’s office would include some memorabilia from his time as Dwight Schrute, but you might be surprised to find a gorgeous wooden table on the patio handcrafted by none other than Nick Offerman of “Parks And Recreation.”

The one-time mercantile factory retains touches from it’s previous life, with stately brick walls and wooden columns framing rooms softened by deep couches and faux fur throws. Vanessa is passionate about preserving the planet and always seeks to repurpose items while decorating, like the reclaimed wood shelves in her living room or the old theater lights that hang above her kitchen island. And having recently released her sixth studio album “Love Is An Art,” it’s no surprise to find a pair of pianos ready and waiting for when inspiration strikes.

Today NBA All Star Kevin Love welcomes Architectural Digest to the TriBeCa neighborhood of Manhattan for a look at life inside his stylish and modern home. Buying a place in New York City was the culmination of of a lifelong ambition for Kevin and the final product is a home that evokes his personal style at every turn. From the strikingly curated artwork to the sunlit spaces for reflection and recharging ahead of another run at an NBA Championship, Kevin Love has made his ideal city sanctuary.

Today Architectural Digest is welcomed by Andrew Rea from Binging With Babish and the Babish Culinary Universe for a tour of his beautiful new house and production studio. After discovering his work on a previous episode of Open Door, Andrew teamed with interior designer Kyle O’Donnell of Gramercy Design to plan his own bohemian home - and the results are spectacular. The fully-equipped production studio on the lower levels of the building are a familiar background to viewers but it’s in the residence above where the design work truly shines. A magnificent kitchen to match his culinary skills, bright sunlit rooms and a backyard to grill and smoke to his heart’s content all add up to a pad perfectly tailored to Babish.
