MLB World Series

In Game 1 of the 1991 World Series, Jack Morris scattered five hits across seven innings of work, holding Atlanta to two runs. A three-run homer from Greg Gagne in the fifth inning was the difference, and Kent Hrbek belted a HR into the upper deck in right field an inning later to add an insurance run.

In Game Two of the 1991 World Series, Chili Davis's two-run HR in the first inning gave the Twins an early lead before a pitchers' duel between Tom Glavine and Kevin Tapani broke out, and the game was tied 2-2 heading into the 8th. A HR from Scott Leius in the bottom of the 8th clinched the win for the Twins, who took a 2-0 lead in the series.

In Game 3 of the 1991 World Series, the Twins rallied from a 4-1 deficit entering the 7th inning with a pair of home runs -- first from Kirby Puckett, then from Chili Davis. The game remained tied into the 12th, and Atlanta won on a base hit by Mark Lemke.

In Game 4 of the 1991 World Series, Jack Morris and John Smoltz dueled to a 2-2 tie after eight innings. In the bottom of the 9th, the unheralded Jerry Willard hit a sac fly to score the winning run for the Braves.

Game 6 of the 1991 World Series, aka "The Kirby Puckett Game." Kirby did it all in this one -- driving in the first run of the game, taking an extra-base hit away from the Braves to save a run with a leaping catch against the plexiglass in left-center, and of course, walking the Twins off to a win with an extra-inning home run.

Game 7 of the 1991 World Series needs little intro, but here goes: Jack Morris throws 10 scoreless innings, Gene Larkin knocks in the series winning run in the bottom of the 10th, Twins win the World Series.
