Carmine and Filippo enter the Juvenile Penalty Institute, the former knows the rules, while Filippo on the contrary seems to have landed on another planet. The boy is immediately renamed "O 'Chiattillo" (the young gentleman) and attracts the attention of Ciro, the boss of the prisoners, who decides to offer him his protection. A new character enters the prison: Naditza, a regular at The WM. Nad gets arrested to escape the fate that her family has decided for her: to marry her in exchange for money to a cousin twenty years older than her. Nad plays the piano like Filippo and makes a bet with the other inmates: within a few days Chiattillo will drool at her feet. Ciro can't wait to avenge the death of Nazzario Valletta, killed by Carmine, who feels the noose around his neck: everything he wanted to free himself from has become reality, now he is a prisoner with a death threat on his head.

Gemma, a girl from Rimini, habitually suffers violence from her boyfriend, but when her sister becomes a victim herself to defend her, revenge seems to Gemma to be the only way to heal from her sick love. Revenge is also what Filippo contemplates, who is not resigned to the abuses to which Pino subjects him. Now he has a gun and has every intention of using it in his defense. Edoardo goes out for leave. Filippo gives the razor blade to the director, but Paola is unable to make him reveal who he wanted to defend himself from. Ciro learns that it was Filippo who stole the razor blade. Pino wants to teach him a lesson, but Ciro seems to have something else in mind for Chiattillo. Pino gets jealous of Ciro's attentions towards Filippo and this alarms him. Philip takes the bait thrown by Ciro and accepts his protection. Carmine warns him: the friendship that Ciro is offering him is called "belonging to the system": one is indebted for every favor received. Carmine is right and in fact Ciro asks Filippo for proof of courage to obtain his protection. Gemma enters the feminine and Viola begins to circumvent her with her manipulative art. After all, what is better for a victim like Gemma than a ruthless executioner like Viola?
