Cinematech

We here at Cinematech love Japanese video games. We do understand, however, that some of them are so off-the-wall and inaccessible to North American audiences that many publishers will not take a risk and bring one of these oddball titles across the Pacific just to satisfy a niche market. Well, if you can't play them, at least you can see some of them. For your enjoyment, this edition of Cinematech offers up a slew of uniquely Japanese games, some of which will never make it over here.

Features trailers, game-play and cinema scenes from a variety of M-rated games, including "Illbleed", "Silent Hill 3", "Metal Gear Solid: Substance", "Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus", and many more.

Electronic Arts has outdone themselves with their latest installment of the Need for Speed license. NFS Underground has so many visual bells and whistles that your eyes will be watering just from playing the game. Just watch the clip and check out those roads, all slicked up and shiny from a recent rainfall. It's amazing. Of course, that's not the only game in this episode, so make sure you stick around and watch the G4 show for the hardcore gamer:

We're not interested in grossing you out with cheap gore effects here on Cinematech. We just want to scare the hell out of you. So if you don't want to be scared, too bad for you! We're going to scare you anyway-especially with games like Silent Hill (we've got all three in this episode), Resident Evil Outbreak, and Clock Tower 3. If you aren't frightened by this lineup, then you must already be scared to death...literally.
