The new school year starts badly with a new, bitching principal and new pupils who fill in the attendance sheet with obscene pseudonyms. A hippie couple rudely scolds their son for becoming polite and intending to study and get a job. Buys starts a computer initiation class. Pupils complain teenagers can't find a spot to make out without getting rebuked. A sick pupil's father takes his place and questions Buys's knowledge of French, boasting a college degree in Romance languages.
