The foolish, arrogant crone principal commandeers master Buys, his colleagues and pupils for an ill-planned PTA open door day, which nobody is motivated or properly prepared for. The janitor's offer to act as DJ is blindly accepted, like a ridiculous 'modern sculpture'. The pupils practice clever sabotage. Buys drinks himself courage for a model history class on an obscure Flemish count, but overdoes that, so the janitor takes over with incomplete notes and proves a hopeless improviser. However the principal sends him on an 'undercover mission' to catch in the act of truancy a violent new pupil, who was kicked out of another Catholic school for staff-abuse. The pupils take the mickey out of janitor Vermeiren, who accompanies them instead and tries in horribly clumsy French to confirm a holiday booking.

The principal tells nobody she's selected, except janitor Vermeiren, whom she chooses based on his IQ test result claim, and even appoints acting principal, to all teacher's fury. The principal doesn't even understand the temp staff rules but ends up assignig his class temporarily first to the janitor, then to apprentice Hubert Millar, a charming womanizer and bar regular. Nerd pupils inform Buys of Millar's academic incompetence and gross discrimination against boys.

Just while André Buys gives sex education classes and his mother away on pilgrimage, baby boy Jan is left at his doorstep with a note implying he's the father, no clue to the mother. Buys brings it temporarily to school, where the cleaner resigned, so a former one is called back. She had affairs with both Buys and his former pupil Jean-Pierre, handsome rowdy motor-biker son of the haughty principal, who 'visits' her for cash. Meanwhile Millar was tricked into temporarily running the pub and a nerd seeks love - rather then sex advice.
