Transformation is always an essential component of a feature film. “A story is by definition change, otherwise you have no story,” says Martin Koolhoven. 'Madness is extremely interesting for film,' says Martin Koolhoven, 'because it also allows you to criticize society. Is this all so normal?' In this episode of De Kijk van Koolhoven all kinds of different types of madness: the maddening war in The Deer Hunter, the brilliant psychopath and serial killer Hannibal Lector in The Silence of the Lambs and the man who has become deranged by society. maniac in The Joker.
