Fourteen years after buying a small, three-bedroom home under pressure, a couple and their two teenagers have decided it's time for a change. He's at his wit's end and is ready to pack up if real estate agent Todd can find them something bigger, newer and move-in ready. She loves their little house, though, and hopes designer Jillian can turn their "dysfunction junction" into an organized dream space. A couple has a quaint and cozy cottage with a great location but dated, dysfunctional and downright dangerous elements. The kitchen has old appliances, the main-floor bathroom doubles as a laundry room and there's a showerhead that won't stop falling. He thinks there's a lot to love about the old house and thinks Jillian has what it takes to bring the "old gal" back up to date. His wife is doubtful that any renovation can give them the much-needed space they need and believes Todd can win the challenge by finding them a home with a modern layout with old-time character and charm.

Linda is now having buyer’s remorse after realizing the house lacks functionality from its wonky kitchen layout and small master bedroom closet to its cramped entryway.
