"Kein Bock haben" is one of those expressions that is not that easy to translate and you will see that we have used different translations in the English subtitles depending on the context. Exactly 37 years ago, Janusz fled by ferry from Poland first to Sweden and then to Germany. At that time, the world was still a different place. Eastern and Western Europe were divided, Poland was ruled by a socialist regime and no one was allowed to leave their own country.
In our video we accompany Janusz on a special journey. We travel with him once again from Gdansk (in Poland) by ferry to Sweden. On the way, Janusz recalls his hopes, dreams and also fears that accompanied him on his escape in 1984.In 1984 Janusz escaped with a ferry from Poland, first to Sweden, then to Germany. Together with Janusz we visit Gdansk, a city in northern Poland that Janusz came to in 1984 in order to leave Poland forever on a boat.

In German, "fit" is rather used to describe that you are healthy. You can translate the terms "fit bleiben" or "fit halten" with "to stay in shape" or "to keep yourself healthy".
