Urban birder David Lindo and actress Alison Steadman reveal some of London's secret wildlife spots, including woodpeckers living by the Westway, dragonflies hatching in Clapton and lizards lounging in Hanwell.

Naturalist Miranda Krestovnikoff together with Mike Dilger and Alastair McKee explore and celebrate the amazing wildlife that can be found in some West Country towns and cities. Miranda discovers an inspiring community garden in Knowle West and also visits city gardens in Bristol and Gloucester where she hopes to catch a glimpse of some urban badgers. Mike Dilger finds that the Avon New Cut, a forgotten Bristolian backwater largely ignored by the hundreds of daily commuters is also a wildlife haven. And Alastair McKee discovers that Swindon is home to some fantastic hidden wildlife gems.

Nick Baker and Sam Smith go on an urban safari to track down some of Devon and Cornwall's outstanding city wildlife.

Chris Packham visits some of the South's urban wildlife hotspots. From a Reading cemetery where the country's smallest deer with the biggest bark roam among the floral tributes, to the badgers of central Gosport, where the concrete environment has become the surprising habitat for a vast array of animals and birds. David Lindo, aka The Urban Birder, takes to the water for a unique urban safari around Salford Quays. He then heads into Manchester to explore the wildlife living in the country's biggest municipal cemetery before joining a bat-watch in a local park. David goes on the trail of hedgehogs and badgers in Warrington and finds a colony of birds with an unusual nesting site in the middle of town. Rani Price concentrates on flowers, insects, birds and squirrels as she tries her hand at wildlife photography in her home city of Liverpool.

Wildlife isn't just found in the countryside. Kirsten O'Brien discovers the bees with a long commute to pollen from their hives on a city centre roof in Newcastle, Hannah Bayman witnesses the birth of a seal pup on Teesside, and sound recordist Chris Watson spends the early hours in a Carlisle graveyard to catch an amazing dawn chorus.

Naturalist Mike Dilger explores Yorkshire's urban landscapes to find the hidden wildlife that most of us miss as we hurry about our busy lives. Along the way, he encounters newts in Hull, butterflies in Shipley and the fastest creature on earth, living and hunting in the centre of Sheffield.

Wildlife cameraman Richard Taylor-Jones takes us on a surprising journey through the streets of Dover and to Bluewater shopping centre, discovering the remarkable animals hidden in the most unlikely places; while Natalie Graham finds there's another side to Brighton's clubland as she tracks down the creatures of the night.
