The Sooty Show

The doyen of the Punch and Judy men, Percy Press, puts his characters through their paces but our own intrepid pair prove more than a match for even Mr. Punch. And, with Punch's crocodile around, even Ramsbottom the snake has some opposition.

It looks as though Harry is going to form a puppet government but the queue of hopefuls outside his door is interested in polishing rather than politics, for Harry is about to employ a butler. Will it be 'Enery the Robot, Butch, Tig the cat, Ramsbottom, Sooty or Sweep? Harry has the pick of the burling bunch and between them they certainly serve him right! Later, Wally Whyton, assisted by Matthew, conducts Double or Drop, the quickfire quiz show which wins studio contestants star prizes - or cabbages.

Today's show features the Genie of the Bone, Wally Whyton with another Double or Drop quiz, Sooty and Sweep opening a Do-It-Yourself shop and the Sooty-Braden Show Band.

Pearly Kings and Queens, ladies with bustles, a policeman and an organ grinder. All characters who pop up when Sooty, Sweep and Soo take a trip into the past - after turning out the cluttered up boxroom.

It's a stormy passage for Harry Corbett when Sooty and Sweep invent their own weather-making machine. Rain, wind, snow, whatever the weather, Harry gets a sample of the lot! Meanwhile, Ramsbottom gets something to chew over when he gets in on the act, or more accurately into the steak and kidney pie.

It's Christmas Time, and Matthew, Sooty, Sweep and Soo have just had a party with their friends. Matthew tells us about their day and we see whats been happening.
