Al has had this 2005 GU-4 Nissan Patrol sitting in the compound for a few years now and its time to get this project started!

We built the 24v Cummins engine 2 years ago, but waited until Al and Woody were ready to begin this project on their channel.

Two years ago we few over to Canada to meetup with@DEBOSS GARAGEand build AL a Unicorn Cummins, A 24v P-Pump 5.9 Cummins. In this episode Al, Rich, Woody and our mate Benny from@Benny's Custom Works Strip down both the 12v and 24v engines and use all the good bits to build an engine that never came from factory.

Today on The Skid Factory, Woody & Al continue work on Al's GU Patrol. With the Body removed the ZD30 was plucked out and discarded into the bin, Al and woody then get stuck into installing a Dobinsons HD Lift kit with Hydraulic Bump Stops, Remote Res Shocks and a shock tower reinforcing kit. The H233 Diff centres are then upgraded to a pair of Harrop E-Lockers and the 4.1:1 ratio gears are swapped for a set of 3.54:1 Gears.

Today on The Skid Factory, AL & Woody Fabricate some engine mounts to fit the 24 valve Cummins into the Y61 Nissan Patrol Chassis. Without the body fitted it makes it a bit harder to know where the engine should be sitting in relation to the firewall so the boys take a guess and refit the body. Luckily the patrol firewall is malleable as it required some persuasion to allow the rear injector line to fit.

Today on The Skid Factory, Al fits up a custom made Landcriuser Airbox courtesy of FFM Fabrication as well as an Alternator and Air conditioning relocation bracket from Thomas4Parts.

Today on The Skid Factory Woody and Al fabricate a 3.5" exhaust system from 409 stainless steel mandrel bends and Raceworks V- Bands.

Today on The Skid Factory, AL & Woody fabricate some intercooler piping for the Cummins Powered Patrol

Today on The Skid Factory, AL and Woody sort out the shifter for the @Hughes Performance​ Built 4L80E transmission and modify the transfer case lever to suit the new position of the transfer case. Al then sorts out the Air Conditioning lines with help from Shane and "Old Cock" from Noosa Radiators.

Today on The Skid Factory, Alan explains what a P-Pump is and a few differences between a VE and VP44 injection pumps.

5 months ago I purchased a car from one of my mates that lives in Arizona USA. Within 10 minutes of seeing it advertised I had transferred money, if that's not an impulse buy I don't know what is! It arrived last week so I went down with Mitch from A Black towing to pick it up. It's a 60's 2 door sedan and it's the perfect candidate for an engine swap.

Today on The Skid Factory Al installs an Air Dog fuel pump and filter system supplied by CEM. We then fire up the Cummins for the first time!

Today on The Skid Factory, Alan finishes off a few nitty gritty jobs that are still required before the patrol can be driven off the hoist. It's then fired up and stalled up in the shed to see if the gearbox is performing as it should....

Today on The Skid Factory, Alan enlists his mate Matt to help Fabricate a new Rear bar and Tyre carrier for the Cummins Powered Patrol.

Today on The Skid Factory Al, Woody and their mate Nickers fit a bunch of Accessories to the Cummins Powered Patrol including a ROLA Roof rack, XTM Awning and Ridge Ryder Spotlights. The patrol then leaves the shed for the first time under its own power for a minor test drive around the block.

Today on The Skid Factory, We're hanging out with our mate "Chappy" From Evolution Tuning in Beerwah to get Al's 6BT cummins Powered Nissan Patrol Tuned. Thanks to Chris and Mikalah for going above and beyond with working on the Patrol. Give them a follow on social media!

Today on The Skid Factory we head out onto some mild yet slippery tracks with Sam from @Built Not Bought and Jackson and Dylan from Eumundi4x4 The patrol is fresh on the road so its a great time for a test drive / Shakedown and also perfect for Alan to get comfortable in the drivers seat.
