With the spread of Hitler's anti-Semitic policies, we see the initial response Pope Pius XII has to this spreading darkness.

Hitler unleashes war and Pius XII organises clandestine meetings to thwart him, but the Allies do not trust the Pope's words.

Hitler once said that the Pope was his personal enemy and with the Nazi occupation of Italy he can finally carry out his revenge on Pius XII.

The war is over, Hitler has committed suicide, and thousands of Nazis are fleeing Europe with the help of members of the Vatican.
