Expeditie Gooris

The Gooris family's "American Dream" takes off. In the famous chic residential area of Los Angeles, Kenji and Sam already feel like "The Fresh Princes of Bel Air". There they are very impressed by their holiday home: a former villa of the world-famous singer Tom Jones. But the Goorissen don't have much time to imagine themselves as real Hollywood stars: Venice Beach, Hollywood Boulevard and Santa Monica Pier are crying out for a visit, so Sam, Kelly, Shania and Kenji over-enthusiastically hop into a flashy Mustang to explore the neighborhood. And a visit to a fortune teller is also a must for Kelly and Shania.

Kelly, Sam, Kenji and Shania know their destinations from the small screen, but now experience The American Dream in real life: from surfing at the iconic 'Baywatch' beach, to a visit to Alcatraz in San Francisco, country dancing with the locals and spotting bears in magnificent nature parks.

The family stops in San Francisco. While Shania and Kelly enjoy a mother-daughter day, Sam and Kenji head out on a fishing boat. Sam is completely over the moon when he thinks he has bitten a fish 'nen beir'. But nothing is what it seems...

The family experiences one crazy adventure after another, but one thing is at the top of Sam's bucket list: he wants to see 'nen beir' in the wild. During the drive from San Francisco to Quincy - where the Goorissen feel like real cowboys - that dream finally comes true. Sam becomes almost hysterical when he spots a brown bear, and he lets out tears of joy.

The Goorissen have "no sitting gap" and like a challenge during their road trip along the West Coast. In sun-drenched California they go water skiing on Lake Tahoe. Sam really likes it. But it quickly goes from a confident "give me those two lats man" to a desperate "killers!" and "I can't feel my legs anymore!".
