To honor those early days and the birth of White Labs, we reunited legends from AleSmith, Ballast Point, Karl Strauss, Pizza Port, and Stone Brewing to put a fresh spin on a ’90s classic—amber ale. Our version is rich and malty with bold hops, fermented with our iconic WLP001 California Ale Yeast® and WLP1995 OG Amber Ale Yeast, bringing the past and present together. Cheers to when it all started - keepin' it classy since 1995.

From years of experience and trialing yeast strains from Ballast Point's R&D & Homebrew Mart experience, East Village Brewing Company's Aaron Justus chose our WLP920 Old Bavarian Lager Yeast as their house strain. The goal was to find a strain that consistently produces the desired taste, aroma, and fermentation performance that sets their beers apart. Able to handle different styles and parameters, Aaron tweaks his recipe to accommodate this versatile lager yeast. Originally from Southern Germany, this yeast finishes malty with a slight ester profile.
