Julian Norton, Peter Wright and their staff deal with more animal emergencies including a dog facing an emergency operation to remove a tumour and a prolapsing sheep that has to be treated on the car park.

Julian and head nurse Sarah tend to an injured swan at a fishing lake. Meanwhile, Bobby (a canine member of the North Yorkshire police force) is brought in to the surgery to have an operation.

Julian Norton has to get to grips with castrating alpacas, while Peter Wright attempts to perform a life-changing operation on a dearly loved pug dog that is having breathing difficulties.

Julian Norton visits a local farm to de-horn some lively young bullocks. Back at the surgery he and Peter Wright try to save the life of a dog that has got a large bone wedged in its oesophagus.

Julian Norton is called out to examine an alpaca, new vet Helen Blackburn performs an emergency caesarean on a beagle and Peter tries to save the eyesight of Whisper the lamb.

Julian returns to Jacki Barlow's alpaca farm to investigate a worrying lump in the mouth of one of the animals. Peter carries out dental surgery on a Yorkshire terrier and Julian examines a pygmy-goat.

Julian and Peter have to cope with two night-time emergency call outs. New vet Esme performs her first emergency caesarean and a pack of bloodhound pups cause mayhem in the surgery.

Julian Norton gets an emergency call at 5am to a horse with colic. One of the nurses at the Skeldale Veterinary practice helps out on a local farm during the lambing season.

Julian is called out to a pregnant cow struggling to calf. When it becomes clear that the lives of both animals are in danger he considers performing an emergency Caesarian.

Staff tend to a poodle with a problem penis, a rabbit with an abscess, a cow with a neck wound and an overly-amorous donkey before gathering to say farewell to Sarah who is leaving to have a baby.
