The Flatey Enigma

Jóhanna comes to Iceland with her 9-year-old son after several years staying in Paris. She travels to Flatey to bury his father who devoted his life to the undefined Flateyjargátu. Jóhanna plans to solve the mystery, while ghosts from the past follow her up.

The police officer Brynjar dives deeper into the murder and has taken a rest at Flatey. Jóhanna tries desperately to hide the existence of her son. The murder seems to be related to the Flateyjargát, and Jóhanna makes every effort to find the solution.

After a failed refugee trial, Jóhanna is at the top of the list of suspects. Brynjar uses every effort to control Jóhanna and circumstances in the island. Jóhanna and Kjartan approach the solution of the mystery, while at the same time revealing circumstances in the homes of Olga and Valda.

Jóhanna is all banned, and her only hope seems to solve the mystery. She is forced to break the detention when she and Kjartan are sure to have found the answer. Brynjar is hardly in vain to achieve his will and settlement is inevitable.
