The Rural Elementary School Professor Hermínio Pagotto is located in the rural area of Araraquara, in the center of the agrovillage of the Bela Vista do Chibarro settlement. The school became essential for the settlers, functioning as a point of support for all local demands.

The Perus I Integrated Center for Youth and Adult Education was born in 2015 in the Perus neighborhood, northwest of São Paulo. A peripheral location, which brings the history of struggle of the population and is marked by abandonment by the State, generating high rates of social vulnerabilities. In this context, CIEJA Perus I is articulated as a transforming agent in the lives of young people and adults through education. The place serves workers and students from the school community who were unable to complete their studies in the time considered regular by traditional education.

The Nucleus of Decentralized Educational Action of the Northwest region of Campinas, also known as NAED Noroeste – Espaço Concórdia is located in the Campo Grande district. This is a region that has historically received less public investment and has the lowest HDI in the city of Campinas. With this history, it became a place that carries the history of the struggle of the population in search of rights.

The Paranoá Learning Community Class (CAP Paranoá) is located in the heart of Brazil, in one of the remaining camps from the time of the construction of Brasília, and serves children from 5 to 9 years old in the Vila Paranoá region. The school is an initiative of a collective of educators who sought an alternative education that made more sense to meet the needs of the community.

The Ipê Agrourban Education Center is located within an Area of Relevant Ecological Interest (AREI), 18 kilometers from the Federal District, in Riacho Fundo II. The community emerged in 1986 from an agrarian reform project, which is why it carries in its history the appreciation of the land and the cultivation of food in conjunction with the urbanization process of neighboring cities.

The Orizona Agricultural Family School (EFAORI) is located in the city of Orizona, Goiás. The place has about 16 thousand inhabitants and its main source of income is family agriculture. The school emerged in 1999 as a result of a need by local residents for an education based on the community.

Located in Minas Gerais, on the border between the municipalities of Belo Horizonte and Contagem, the Anne Frank Municipal School emerged from the social movement of homeless residents in 1988. Since the beginning it has been located in the heart of Confisco, a neighborhood built through of a lot of struggle, in the joint efforts of the residents of the region.

The city of Soledade, located in Rio Grande do Sul, is an example for all other municipalities in Brazil. With around 30,000 inhabitants, it is the 16th Brazilian city to join the International Association of Educating Cities through actions developed by municipal departments together with teachers.

UNILA, Federal University of Latin American Integration, is located in the city of Foz de Iguaçu, Paraná. Due to its strategic geographic position on the triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the university seeks to contribute to Latin American integration through higher education.

SERTA, Alternative Technology Service, offers a technical course in Agroecology aimed at young people and adults from different regions, mainly in the Northeast. Located in Pernambuco, the school operates on two campi, one in Glória do Goitá, in the Zona da Mata, and another in Ibimirim, in the Sertão. Each campus offers the course according to the needs and characteristics of its region.

The Nossa Senhora do Carmo School is located in the city of Bananeiras, in Serra da Borborema, in Paraíba. The school stands out for an innovative project, serving families mostly from rural communities and a few urban ones, with students from 4 to 15 years old.

Casa do Rio emerged as a social project, became a school, went through a process of re-signification, moved to another city, until it established itself as an non-governmental organization. The project is located in the municipality of Careiro Castanho, in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, on the banks of the BR-319 highway, a region whose dynamics are guided by the forest and the flow of the highway.

Close to a tributary creek of the Rio Negro, the Professor Waldir Garcia Municipal School serves more than 600 students from Manaus, most of whom live on stilt houses in the surrounding neighborhoods. The school has existed since 1986 and has long been classified as traditional and not very innovative. However, a few years ago it went through an internal reformulation process that made it an example of transforming practices.
