Police: Suspect No.1

In Norfolk, an otherwise unassuming summer evening is shaken by an armed robbery. A vehicle is stolen and innocent people are shot.

Detective Inspector Burgess of Norwich CID has a problem, the number of home burglaries has rocketed and there are more and more victims emerging every day. Looking at the evidence, officers suspect that one man is potentially responsible for a large part of the spike in residential crime, but he is a highly experienced criminal who knows every way to escape capture and avoid leaving any clue that could incriminate him.

After a raid on a cannabis factory, nine people are arrested and it is up to the team at Norwich CID to get to the bottom of which role each suspect played. In the interview room, different stories emerge and the detectives face a daunting challenge to determine who is telling the truth and who is spinning lies.

The team in Norwich gathers evidence about a single-punch attack that has left a man with a serious brain injury, but no witnesses are willing to come forward to identify the culprit. In another incident, a pensioner is allegedly attacked and robbed just outside a betting shop, but, once again no-one present can identify the person responsible.
