The Lateral Line

After a couple years of no fishing, Nato wants to have a crack at catching a kingfish on his fly rod. The boys find a pack of ray riding King Fish and A fly is smashed in what the boys reckon is one of the greatest strikes they have ever seen. Nato manages to catch 2 more solid harbour kingfish on live baits that were trailing behind the boat while fly fishing.

The boys leave the harbour and head down the coast to shelter from the forecasted wind. Later that day the wind drops out and the nearest island seems like it’s worth a visit. After a few stuff ups, Milan lands a couple big beautiful kingfish.

The boys make the drive over to the Wild West coast and plan to pitch the tent on the boat and spend a night in the harbour. Snappers are on the hit list as the sun goes down and kingfish as the sun comes up. Nato manages to film kings hunting live mullet in 4K 60 frames with his iPhone.

After spending the Xmas holidays catching kingfish in the harbour Milan is super keen to finally land a kingfish in the harbour while Nato films it with his iPhone. The boys see a massive kingfish around a marker pole and spend 3 days trying to catch it.

The boys set out to make an educational “best practice” shark fishing video, after a considerable increase in recreational fishermen targeting Sharks. There has also been an increase in accidental Great White Shark captures by recreational fishermen. After some 10 years targeting Bronze Whaler Sharks, the boys have only ever seen one Great White Shark and never hooked one while Shark fishing. What takes place completely blows their minds!

Nato has set Milan the task of catching a big snapper before he is allowed to catch another kingfish. Then Nato has a bedtime story about a pack of kingfish hammering a live bait.

Nato is on a mission to catch some snapper to fillet up and give to some friends of his that are kind enough to let Him go camping and bow hunting on their property.

Milan tags along with a couple of keen young anglers who are trying to catch a kingfish off the rocks. It’s the perfect opportunity for him to get some filming practice in also.

The boys are camping on the boat for 3 nights. The fishing was a little tuff but the rewards come in the end.

Land Based Fishing a beautiful New Zealand harbour

The boys are off on another land-based fishing mission on a stunning part of New Zealand’s east coast. 3 days fishing off the rocks trying to get something to eat and hoping to do battle with some big King Fish. The boys are not disappointed, Snapper and King Fish are landed.

The boys are fishing with Bait Junkie lures along with a beautiful piece of New Zealand’s coastline. Casting lures into the wash hoping to get them in front of a big Snapper. Nathan does most of the fishing this time round as Milan isn’t feeling the best after having a root canal done on one of his front teeth only days earlier.

The boys are fishing in an area they have both heavily fished in years gone by. Both Nathan and Milan haven’t fished the area in over 2 years. This particular part of the Bay Of Plenty is about to become a marine reserve and the boys are super keen to fish it just one more time before it’s locked down to fishing. The dream is to land one last jumbo King Fish for old time's sake. Excitement levels start peaking as multiple schools of Kahawai come to the surface to feed late in the afternoon. Topwater lures are cast around the schools of feeding Kahawai trying to provoke a bite from New Zealand’s yellowtail King Fish.

The boys are on a 4-day fishing mission in a harbour they were land-based fishing a month or so back. Milan managed to land a nice Trevally from the beach so the boys reckon they should have a tonne of fun fishing the harbour in the boat. The fishing was harder than expected so Milan comes up with a crazy idea to catch something different and ends up stuck in the mud.

The boys are yet again confined to fishing and camping in enclosed waters with a big swell hitting both the east and west coasts of New Zealand. They also have a storm forecast to hit right in the middle of the 4-day trip but the boys plan to ride it out. The dream is to land a big winter kingfish, but it will be smiles all around just to be eating freshly caught fish on the boat.

The cuffs have come off. The weather is perfect and the topwater fishing season has just kicked off in New Zealand. The plan is to head wide to an offshore island that is surrounded by big fish habitat. Wash rocks, steep drop-offs, and tonnes of current. Big stick baiting rods and reels are rigs and ready to do tangle with the Yellowtail Kingfish.

After an epic trip, last time round all the boys want to do is go back out wide and repeat the process. This time around Andrei is keen as to catch a big king and tags along. Epic days fishing was had.

After being locked up at home, unable to go camping and fishing for some 5 weeks! The boys have their freedom back once more. The forecast says rain, but after being stuck on dry land for weeks on end, going fishing in the rain sounds like a lot of fun. Nato’s tent on the boat was designed to make fishing and camping on the boat in the rain possible and enjoyable, the Tent is about to be put to that very test. The boys plan to make the most of the terrible forecast in some sheltered waters. As always, a tonne of fun was had to try to catch some fish to eat despite the rain and there are big smiles all around.

The boys still have quite a few restrictions on where they can go and what they can do fishing-wise. Which isn’t a bad thing when considering the last 2 trips out to the island have led to heaps of fun being had and a few epic fish being landed. So, once more the boys have the island in site and dreams of big fish and some laughs with good mates are at the forefront of their minds.

The boys make a 4 hour drive east to fish a crazy piece of water after hearing stories of huge King Fish pushing squid and flying fish to the surface and then smashing them. It’s a beautiful place and the boys haven’t fished there from the boat in a few years. Excitement levels are through the roof! In fishing, timing is everything!!!!! The boys are in the right place at the right time and during the right time of the year. There is so much amazing fishing action it couldn’t all be jammed into one film, so, this is just part 1, to be continued………..

The boys are continuing on fishing from where they left off last time around. The day starts off with Milan getting smashed off by a big Kingfish! Some Snapper fishing in a Burleigh trail keeps the boys entertained over the middle part of the day and then the ocean comes to life with huge schools of massive Kingfish coming up to the surface and smashing bait all around the boat. The show ends with a montage of all the crazy fishing action!

After making the most of the spring run of king Fish and catching more then their fair share of big King Fish. The boys have confined them selfs to there favourite harbour for a couple of nights camping and fishing on the boat. Nato is keen to film some beautiful time lapses after not being able to on the recent off shore missions. Milan has a chilli bin full of amazing treats and a couple new toys for cooking said treats. The dream is to catch some Trevally and have fresh sashimi on the boat as a starter to NATO’s venison croak pot meal and The boys are not disappointed. Transcript
