The dedication of the Noda Deh Lodge--Peter and Teevee's grand plan to bring more tourism to Lynx River--is marred by a late night fire and a body. James begins to suspect Peter, who had been seen arguing with the dead man not long before the fire.
Although Michelle wants to believe in her brother's innocence, his obvious lying about certain aspects of the incident makes it hard for her to do so. Adding to the tension --and the plausibility of a coverup-- is the fact that Peter is trying to become premier of the Northwest Territories. When James and Michelle travel to Yellowknife to investigate the dead man's work for the provincial legislature, hey begin to unravel a complicated web of political wheeling and dealing.
But what--and whom--will they find at the center?
