Funny cities for a meeting

Alexandra Alveque travels to Manila, capital of the Philippines, in Southeast Asia. With more than 43,000 inhabitants per square kilometer, the city holds the world record for population density. The majority lives below the poverty line and 40% of the Manillas have taken up residence in one of the 500 slums in the megalopolis. But Filipinos are getting organized and adapting to a difficult daily life with unshakable optimism. Alexandra will discover it by cohabiting with a family of ten in a small house in the heart of a makeshift camp.

In the south of Benin, in West Africa, irreducible fishermen, the Tofinu, live in Ganvié, a lakeside city of 35,000 inhabitants, nicknamed "the little Venice of Africa". Here, no roads or sidewalks. The canoe is the only way to move between the houses suspended above the waves of Lake Nokoué. Alexandra Alveque spent two weeks with Paul, a fisherman, and his family of 17 children.

Alexandra Alvêque flies to Las Vegas, Nevada. The city is not just a tourist destination: some 60,000 people settle there every year. To understand the reasons for this success, Alexandra settled into an American couple, Matt and Monica, and their children. Matt lives at night. He organizes parties and performs as a rock singer on Fremont Street. Alcohol, sex, games and eccentric parties ... the city is not easy; and to live there normally, Alexandra will learn that we must respect some rules.

According to a 2015 UN ranking, Aarhus, Denmark, is the happiest city in the world. To verify this, Alexandra Alvêque left for two weeks in the second largest city after Copenhagen. The reporter stayed at Dite and Anders who have two daughters. She discovered, among other things, the school where empathy and benevolence are at the heart of teaching, the honesty of citizens and the absence of insecurity.
