Joe Crowley offers invaluable advice for viewers looking to rescue a house for themselves and finds out more about our housing stock, our heritage and why we should be both reinventing and preserving Britain's Empty Homes. The show features ambitious renovations and inspirational transformations, but also highlights the work carried out by the UK's Empty Property Officers, whose job it is to get unoccupied homes back into use.
In this episode, Joe meets jazz musicians Simon Kaylor and Kari Bleivik who have bought a large derelict Methodist Chapel in Leeds. They are keen to share their plans to turn this unusual property into a family home with music rehearsal spaces - and to get as much guidance as they can. To give Simon and Kari tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a man who has converted an old Methodist Chapel in York into an amazing hi-tech home.
Joe also discovers how a Manchester-based project to convert 27 long term empty houses into affordable family homes will also give local youngsters the chance to train as apprentices, and follows Empty Property Officer Matt Smith on his mission to save abandoned houses in Birmingham.

To give Josh and Samantha tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a couple who have converted two similar size cottages into a spectacular family home, on an equally tight budget.
