Monsen and the dogs

Lars Monsen has set himself a soaring goal: to win the Iditarod in Alaska, the world's longest sled dog race, over 1800 km. During the preparation for the 2013 season, Lars realizes reluctantly that he must get rid of Browney, his best and most experienced leader dog. Just before the start of the season, blood samples show that Lars is still not healthy. The 600 km long Femundløpet becomes a test of what shape Monsen and his dogs are in.

Two of his most important dogs can't race, Queen injures a toe, and Fischer has gotten sick, without them ever fully knowing what is wrong with him. Lars is well placed in the race when Fischer's situation worsens.
