This range covers the lowest bass tones to exceed highest note soprano. Dimash has sung various songs in 12 different languages, Kazakh, Russian, Mandarin, English, French, Ukrainian, Italian, Turkish, Serbian, Kyrgyz, German, and Spanish. He is university trained in classical as well as in contemporary music and is known for his wide vocal range of 6 octaves. He has performed songs in twelve different languages. On 9 April 2017, he won "Most Popular International Singer" at the Top Chinese Music Awards in Shenzhen, China, which are considered to be the Asian equivalent to the Grammy Awards. He gained significant popularity in Kazakhstan and other post-Soviet countries in 2015 upon becoming the Grand Prix winner of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus. He rose to fame in China with his participation as a "wildcard competitor" in Hunan TV's Singer 2017 (Chinese: 歌手2017) .
