The Daltons are on the lam and they find the perfect hideout: the Free Republic of Freedonia, whose motto is “you’re welcome...whoever you are”. They are greeted with open arms by the republic’s founder, Illitch Zakouski, a flaky old anarcho-pacifist. With his new-found ‘comrades”, Zakouski decides he shall build a better world, a world without masters, without landlords and landowners, a world free of exploitation. The Daltons couldn’t have dreamed up a more ideal hideaway...that is, until another “comrade” shows up in Freedonia: Lucky Luke!
