The rishis fume at their wives for spending time with Mahadev. They try to kill Mahadev when he defends their wives but Mahadev takes away their powers. Rishi Dadhichi and the deities seek Lord Vishnu's help to get rid of the demons. Lord Vishnu tells them that Parvati will destroy the demons. Mahadev and Parvati reach Kailash. Parvati performs the after marriage rituals at Kailash as Mahadev's wife.
