Jalandhar asks Vritrasur to take revenge against the deities. He demolishes half of the deities' army as soon as he attacks on them. Indradev panics on seeing the loss. Brihaspati instructs Indradev to seek help from Lord Brahma. Indradev ignores Brihaspati's advice, and seeks help from Mahadev. Maharishi Dadhichi decides to donate his body for the betterment of the universe. He informs Indradev that he can kill Vritrasur by preparing a weapon out of his bones.
