This US Military MRE menu 5 is a fantastic menu that has been in service for some time now and with some significant changes since. Check out what's new - and if there is any room for further improvement. This is a tried & true menu that goes back to the Grilled Chicken from 1995 and ran up until 2009 when it was replaced by Chicken with tomato & feta. That was an odd menu for many. Too much flavor and especially in the morning or on a sour stomach. It needed to be simplified again and if more flavor was needed, one could add that spice or sauce in after the fact. This is more versatile, and the main could be cheaply sourced out in times of war - and fast! That is really important by a supply standpoint, and also it's not only saving Uncle Sam a little money, but it's palatable and easy to eat at any time of the day or night and a soldier will actually care to eat it many times over without missing a bite.
