As a former Portuguese trading post on the spice route, the island of Mozambique is a true crossroads of cultures. Its turbulent past and frequent cyclones have taken their toll. Today, a new generation of Mozambicans are coming to terms with its past and wants to give this UNESCO World Heritage site a revamp.
