Competing for the job are a vegan-restaurant manager from Brooklyn; a waiter from Moanalua, Hawaii; an unemployed former restaurant manager from Rigby, Idaho; a currently jobless woman from Chicago; and a mom from Mountain Brook, Ala., who owns a catering business.
