Drama-documentary exploring the events of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. from the perspective of Valeri Legasov, the scientist in charge of the investigation, played by Adrian Edmondson. The programme reveals how the authorities, afraid of widespread panic, repressed information about the extent of the danger. As radiation 400 times the safe level seeped into the air, people in the surrounding area were completely unaware of the lethal threat they faced.
