The Dream of the Rood | Old English Easter Elegy Or Secret Pagan Poem? (2020x20)
Date de diffusion: Avr 13, 2020
So I've decided to move the content on my second channel Vlogs in Clogs through as a section on here on the main channel. So it's basically just a normal video on a theme but outdoors and in a vlog-style whilst I'm walking. Note that no walkers were sneezed on during the making of this production.
Today I wanted to talk about the Dream of the Rood, as it was Easter Sunday and the poem is an Old English, Anglo-Saxon one about the crucifixion and the resurrection as well as more broadly some themes on conversion and the Anglo-Saxon conversion from paganism to Christianity and how this might have come about and manifested in the literature of the time.
