Upon teaching Scaredy to conquer his fears of bears, Smurfette and Brainy figure they could use Papa Smurf's hypno glasses to hypnotize Gargamel to stop catching Smurfs. This backfires and he falls into the mind control of Azarel. Brainy must get back the hypno glasses and de hypnotize him.
