After discovering the first confirmed Covid-19 patient in Europe, they became the continent's first line of defence against the virus. Film-makers Alberto Gottardo and Francesca Sironi worked with the BBC's Gabriel Gatehouse to make this exclusive film from inside the hospital at the heart of Italy's pandemic.
