A year and a half after August's death, the Krogh family is trying to find their way back to everyday life - each with completely different strategies. Emilie has distanced herself from the church and decided that her and August's little son should be named. This doesn't exactly excite Johannes, because in the Krogh family, people are baptized. At the same time, August's old church is facing closure. This arouses extra emotions in Johannes, who feels that the church is the only thing left after August.
