Passing by Hanakusa School, Taiga hears his classmates talking about "capturing monsters" and decides to do the same after school. But Taiga searches all around Hanakusamachi with no luck, until he bumps into Iwao Harima, the school's big kid and Taiga's rival. Iwao challenges Taiga to a battle, but Taiga wants to finish the battle soon for a new monster.
