A medallion (talisman) is created in a dark forge while words are chanted during its creation. The next time we see the talisman it is being withdrawn from a safe deposit box by a woman who is later mugged in the park, A Police Officer, Walton, accused with abuse of a prisoner, is asked to find the talisman by the woman's husband, which is said to bring bad luck to anyone who acquires it illegally.
