In Game Five of the 1987 World Series, Bert Blyleven and Danny Cox reprised their pitching matchup from Game Two, and dueled through five scoreless innings. In the sixth, St. Louis broke through for three runs, aided by a rare error by Greg Gagne. Though the Twins rallied with two runs in the eighth -- on a two-run triple by Gary Gaetti -- the Cards' sixth inning outburst was enough for the win and a 3-2 series lead.
